Thread: Hate to ask, Pricing Question
What is eveyone charging for weapon powerups in crates and individually?
(will comment after responses)
3500 a crate, 375 for individual powerups, only the highest quality (33+%/16+%).
At first I thought I was having deja vu, then I remembered the search engine...

I chose not to use the search engine to for my question because I wasn't sure how long ago the post would be, and was hoping to get a the most current average price. A week ago is pretty close, so I probably should have checked first.
Anyway, I'm just worried about the whole thing because I see some people selling them for less than 2000 a crate, which is just crazy.
Alot of crafters base there prices on the simple idea that they charge X amount of credits per resource used to create the item. I said this in a different thread, but I feel I should say it again:
You work harder than you give yourself credit for to make these things. You have to find two of the best overall quality materials to make them, and then either sample them yourself or use pricey (soon to be even moreso) harvesters. You then have to experiment and roll the dice over and over againto see if you get a configuration of powerups that will sell (face it, you'd have more trouble selling something that had 33% bonus to ideal range than you would speed or max damage), and if you are making them in crates, this means you also have to run a factory, which requires power and money to maintain. On top of all this, you have to be a high level artisan which requires long hours of grinding your way up to a high enough level to make the best quality ones.
The fact that you sell weapon powerups, a VERY useful item in the game for about as much as I can get from a junk dealer for selling him something that is broken...something is a little off there.
I sell mine at what I think is a fair and competitive price of 3000 a crate, and 10x whatever the highest primary attribute of the powerup is (maybe a little extra if it has a 3rd or 4th attribute). This isn't unreasonable, and I just don't understand why people seem to be selling there products way short of what they are worth relative to the work you do to make them.
Some are selling for 1000c per crate of +33/16/8 ranged powerups. Which means your 950 OQ copper and fiberplast is only making you 10c per. So if you bought it that's only 6c per proffit, and that's not counting the thrown away schematics, factory costs, etc.
I'm sticking with melee and grenade powerups at 3k per crate. If I get back into ranged powerups it will be 2k per crate or more.
The markets are so different across servers, it's just impossible to come up with an accurate average. On a server where there's only been a couple Mineral or Chemical OQ 900+ pops, they will be worth much more.
