Strange... noticed that all my survey tools have a Max Resolution of 6 pts, and a Max Range of 384m. Yet at Survey IV, I have a max of 320m x 5 pts. Also noticed that conductivity is the experimental effectiveness requirement for Quality? Not that any of my Survey Tools have a listed Quality... I know I made most of them using a copper with a CD 793 (what I had on-hand at the time). Has anyone been able to hit the 384m x 6 pts mark? Or made a Survey Tool with 990+ Copper?

I don't see any advantage to having better tools. Maybe they last longer or something. If that's the case who cares? Just make another one.

I made a tool with 994 CR copper just to see if I could hit the cap no dice as far as I can tell it does nothing for it.

I'm new to surveying.

How can you tell what will make the best surveying equipment. Or does it matter when you are starting off new?

Ive noticed the same thing with the tools just yesterday in fact. I was wondering if maybe it was possible to set the range OUT of the gui..

AKA /setToolRange 384 or something like that.. I fiddled with it alittle and i couldnt figure anything out.

I sure am getting sick of these items which you craft without knowing what your epxerimentation is going towards... All experimentable modifiers should be stats for every item.

Found out the following from some guys who have been around since Beta: That highest distance/point range used to be granted when you reached Master Artisan, but when they moved out of Beta they did not include it.

Regarding Highly Experimented Survey Tools... The higher your Survey tool, the more likely you will find a sample on any given try. Which over time will yield more resource through Manual Sampling, but it doesn't help one single bit if you are just surveying. Of course you should mark your tools with the percentage that you experimented them to, because it doesn't show up anywhere after you make them.
