I already sent a PM To Thunderheart, but I'll post here and answer the list.
1. Yes. I have a character there, a brawler, which I don't play often, but probably will more often. I follow the isssues on the TC forums very carefully as well. I'm also hoping for Character Copy to make it in soon so that I can test some of the higher-end stuff- I have three mastered professions on my main character, armorsmith, merchant and artisan.
2. Scylla and Bria. My character on Bria is a combat-only character, though. I do all my crafting on Scylla, and rarely play my Bria character except when I'm going bananas from never doing anything but crafting.
3. Yes, I think so. I'm in a decent-sized PA with a large number of crafters, both long-term and dabblers. I'm also working with several crafters outside of my PA on various things. I find myself fielding questions about crafting quite a lot. I don't want to give out names of people as references without speaking to them about it first.
4. I'm a professional software developer and consultant, and although I have no MMO beta-testing experience specifically, I get paid to test software and systems for my living, in addition to developing and designing them.
5. See #4- I've worked on both sides of the test/bug fix cycle, and I'm intimately familiar with how software testing works.
6. I don't see myself as a "leader" per se. I think the correspondent is not someone who should necessarily be a leader, but someone with good communication skills and the ability to consider a wide range of opinion on any given issue and come up with a consensus. Leadership implies being in charge of something, which is not how I see the Correspondent position working. Quite the opposite, in fact- the Correspondent works for the community, he or she does not lead it.
7. I'm pretty level headed, open-minded, and (I like to think) pretty intelligent. As a correspondent, I would have no trouble arguing for or presenting ideas to the devs that I do not agree with, if the community conensus was against my opinions. That's not to say I wouldn't be able to argue for my own ideas here on the Artisan forums, but what comes from the Correspondent should not just be his or her ideas. I'm also articulate and can provide a good channel of communication between this community and the developers.
I've been an Artisan since shortly after starting playing, and it was the first profession I mastered. I spend nearly all my time in-game crafting or doing things to support my crafting activities (as do many here), and I'm pretty familiar with what does and does not work.

Questions you might want to answer:
1) Have you ever played on Test Center?
No, not yet.
2) What other servers do you play on?
Tarquinas
3) Are you connected with the in game artisan community on your server? (give us a few references)
I'm not even sure there is a set artisan community on my server. However I constantly stay connected with the Gat community ingame, and with the DE comunity.
4) What beta-testing experience do you have?
EQ and Sanctum (it's an online game but not a MMORPG)
5) What professional software testing experience or training do you have?
AutoCAD, I work as a Draftsman, Idrawnew productandinstallation drawings.
6) Why do you see yourself as a forum leader?
Becuase I would take full use of the torture chambers to keep you people in line. Um... no, seriously I don't really see it as being a leader but as being a represenative of the artisan comunity. I am only one artisan out of many, my voice may count but only to the same amount as all the other artisans.
7) Why do you think you'd make a good correspondant?
I've had experiencebeing the represenative of smaller onlinecommunities before both of which are still going and both of which I probably still would be running if I didn't retire myself from the position. One being the GAT Clan in the game Earth 2025 in which I was the Foriegn Relations Manager and was in constant contact with friendly and hostile clans. The other is the GAT Region of the Nation States game, in which I was the U.N. Delegate. The U.N. Delegate endorses legislation in the U.N. and carries the most votes out of all the countries in the region when the U.N.is voting on the legislation proposals. And I was the represenative of both of these communities at the same time.
This is not an official list of qualifications, but it's just a list of qualities a good Corr should have.
Other stuff about me...
I've been playing SWG since day 1....er...at least I signed up day 1, most of us didnt' get to play untill day 2.
Artisan was the first proffession I mastered and I have kept it ever since. I've been an active member of these forums since June 2002. And I have been the main Droid Engineer for Gat City for over a year now. (yeah we were planning Gat City since before the game was released)
Yeah I have been talking about the GAT alot, what can I say, I've been a GATer for almost 2 years now. (for those who don't know GAT stands for the"General Any Topic" forum.) Although I havestayed non factioned and non guilded the whole time ingame, not that I always plan to stay that way but just becuase I've mainly just been crafting the whole time. I do go on hunts with the PA's in the city though.
I know a lot of you don't know me, I have not spent much time on the Artisan forums up till now but if I become Correspondent I of courseplan to switch most of my forum time over to here. And like I said, I don't plan to lead but just to be a represenative, of our artisan issues, not my artisan issues.

Ah. We'll I'll clarify the "forum leader" idea... simply put: do you contribute much, answer questions etc?
A fair question. I have answered some questions here in the past, and taken part in some discussions. I have spent time on my Galaxy forum (Scylla) in somewhat less-than-serious conversations (we have a lot of fun over there). However, I have also taken part in a number of discussions on the Merchant, Armorsmith, and (prior to the closing) the SWG Discussion forum. I feel I contribute positively in most of the threads I post in, but some may not agree- many of these things being subjective.
If the major criteria for being the Artisan correspondent is a heavy posting history in the Artisan forum, I may not be the best candidate. I can say that I have followed Artisan and crafting - related issues and discussions on many forums avidly, and that I am both familiar with and aware of most of the major issues affecting the crafting community. I am certainly not reticent to post when appropriate.
If I *were* to become the correspondent, you can be sure that I would be present on a daily basis, or if I were to be gone for any longer than a day, that I would make people aware of it and ask for/designate someone to get me up to speed when I returned.
And lastly, I am the system admin and moderator for my PA's discussion forums, and I have operated in the capacity of moderator or discussion leader in many places over the years, so I am familiar with what is expected of someone in such a position.

I think everyone wants to know - and this is not intended to be a personal attack on any correspondent - whether the applicants foresee having enough time for the next 3-4 months to devote to this position. The realities of the correspondent program dictate that the changing of the guard is an extremely slow process, and that is not the fault of the correspondents themselves. When correspondents ask to step down, sometimes there is a lag of a month between the resignation and the new correspondent - even if the current correspondent has announced his intention to leave swg permanently and the devs know that he can't "fill in" during the transition period. So I want to know whether any of you foresee any major time-suck hiccups in the near future.
My schedule is pretty stable at the moment, and I have a full-time job (I'm 34 years old). I believe I can devote the time required. What I would do if I were Correspondent would be to either start topics or bring topics of discussion to the table, allow people to discuss things and provide their points, then coalesce the responses, allow for comments and take the results to the developers, and advocate for the community's goals on the correspondent forums. I would also participate in discussions myself, of course- being a correspondent would not mean I couldn't present my own ideas.
In a sense, the Correspondent is a discussion leader and editor. Whoever is the Correspondent is tasked with presenting topics and then editing the responses into something that can be presented cogently to the developers and other decision-makers behind SWG.
There is one thing coming up in my life that would be a distraction- I have a daughter on the way, due in late March. I also have a 4 year old son, so I kind of have an idea of what I'm in for. My guess as to the amount of time required for being an active, successful Corresponent is one to two hours per day- not every day, but on average. I just spoke to my wife and she agrees this wouldn't present much of a problem, since she's a stay at home mom, and I have a flexible work schedule. A wireless laptop to access the forums helps too.
If I felt that I was not going to be able to continue devoting the requisite time to being the Artisan correspondent, I would let Thunderheart know and proactively begin the process of not only selecting a new Correspondent, but bringing that indivdidual up to speed as quickly as possible so there would be little or no interruption to the community.

Do I contribute? Well I hope I've contributed something on different forums, if not I've spent the last year and a half on these forums not doing much at all. Um I answer questions on the DE forums from time to time but there are others there that do so regularly and it is hard to beat them at answering questions. I currently post in the GAT forum, the DE forum, and the Gat City forums pretty much every day. I'll probably start posting here too even if I don't become correspondant.

Actually this is going to sound very similer to Jimer.
My schedule is also pretty stable. I have a full-time job. I'm 25 years old (well for the next three weeks anyway). The one thing coming up in my life that would be a distraction is that I have a son on the way, due in May. I have a 3 year old godson so I sort of know what I'm in for. So other than several days at the begining of May, I don't see any problems. Like I said before I've been on these forums for a few months shy of 2 years already, I'm not going anywhere for awhile.
Participation in discussions is a must for corresspondants. I'm on the forums far too long everyday. I plan on keeping Droid Engineering also but if I become correspondant then even ingame I'd keep it as a side proffession. I already have anothermasterDE inplace helping me supply Gat City with droids so I'll have no trouble shifting my focus elsewhere, I already mostly work just on orders for droids, while the other DE keeps his vendor fully stocked so I don't have to.
Although I do have one droid concern for us. That would be, that DE's will be getting more functionality with new modules.I am guessing that apossibility for one of the modules would be a survey module. Which is a possibilty becuase both the Republic and the Empire used droids with surveing capabilities and it probably would not be too difficult to add to the game. Now I think IF they do add this capability for droids (meaning I have no idea if it will happen or not) then I would deffinately want at least a requirement of Surveying IV if not Master Artisan to use them, becuase I would hate it if just anyone could just bypass the benifits of our Sruvey line by just buyinga droid.

3) Are you connected with the in game artisan community on your server? (give us a few references)
4) What beta-testing experience do you have? (game betas?) SWG beta, Planetside, earth and beyond, DAoC, Eve online, and a few others
5) What professional software testing experience or training do you have?
6) Why do you see yourself as a forum leader? (do you participate extensively and answer questions?)
7) Why do you think you'd make a good correspondant? I'm a responsible, professional adult, (Not that age is really a factor, as I have met many responsible younger people) I follow the forums daily and play upwards of 30-40 hours a week. I have a thriving business in game and have been a master artisan since the 4th week after startup. I do not make a lot of cash in game, because most of my products are given to PA members, but I have earned a reputation as a fishtank designer on Ahazi. SWG is an awesome game with great potential and I'd love to have a part in making it even better.
(also sent a PM letter of intent off to TH, but somehow I'm on his ignore list, so not sure he will get it. *shrug*)
