Can someone link me to the FAQ if there is one that explains.

1) How long resources stay in one place

2) How they are used up. i.e. by planet or by location.

3) How often they respawn? Is there something that triggers it.

Anything else I need to know

cant point you to the faq, but to answer your question.

there is a migration every day but it only affects a few resources each day so a particular resource lasts between 5 - 10 days

when a resource appears on a server it will be the same qualities for every planet in that server. but it doesnt appear on all planets at the same time so it may appear on say Correlia the next day it will appear on say tatooine and dantooine and others the day after.

there is some debate as to what spawns it. my opinion is that it is time related so that when created it has a timer that indicates how long it lasts

finally they dont respawn like for like. by that i mean some types of aluminium may vanish but a type of low grade ore will appear. it is possible for there not to be any of a particular type of material. for example bowcasters need dooinium iron and quadranium steel but for about a week there was neither on Farstar.

swgcraft.com is your friend. It will give you a decent picture of what is going on with the resources.

If a resource migrates every 5-10 days, how do people leave harvesters to work for a month?

Some resource miners will buy large quantities of lots from people for permanent installations, and simply mine what comes up in that area. With enough harvesters in such a configuration, you can be assured of getting at least some of the decent resources. Others may leave them up because they're just getting whatever is there for grinding and don't care about quantity or quality.

Just out of curiosity... does anyone know when lidium extrusive ore last appeared on Valcyn? Is it supposed to be laughablyrare, or is something amiss? This seems to border on sadism towards droid engineers.
