Thread: Unused Experimentation Points

Hi,



Looked through the FAQs and didn't find this question -- on several occasions, while experimenting during crafting an item, I use up all the small purpleexperiment "blocks", click the forward button, and get the message "You have 1 experiment (sometimes up to 3) points available" - but I'm unable to use them.



Does anyone know why this happens?

Becuase for each crafted item there are certain qualities in resources that can improve the product. For example some crafted items use the"Overall Quality" and "Conductivity" numbers from recources. (when using your crafting too the description tells you what you want to look for in a resource,for that specific item)


Now lets say you use resources on an item with a low Overall Quality and Conductivity such as steel with...


Overall Quality 300
Conductivity 250


...you will get very few "purpleexperiment blocks"...however if you were to use a resource that had high ratings on that same item, such as steel with...


Overall Quality 900
Conductivity 850


...you would get a lot more "purpleexperiment blocks" to play with and you can make better products.



Long story short, it depends on the recources you use as to weather you have experimentation points left over or not enough to fill all the bubbles while experimenting.

So I other words. If you utilized excellent materials, you'll get best results and further experimentation will yield you nothing more.



So I guess you should be happy that you crafted the best item utilizing those resources.

Well no, experimentation will always yield you more, unless you are working on parts for Droid Engineers becuase experimentation for doesn't mean anything in the final product.


With good materials you usually get something like above 20% automaticly and you experiment up from there, and depending on how goodthe resources are you can get items up over 90%, but you have to get good experimentation rolls and no critical failures while experimenting. If you get a critical failure you could even take your product down to 0% experimentation, and if that happens you can't get that specific item any higher.
