I have been doing a lot of factory runs, lately. Almost none of them come out with the correct number of items. The worst one was supposed to come out with 100 items, and instead I got 83 items. That is a 17% failure rate IN THE FACTORY!!!Anyone else seeing this?

This isnt because of failures its because you ran out of a resource. The factory will only make as many as you have enough resources for.

I think I know what is happening. Factory hoppers are still bugged. So, it will never fill up to the 100 item limit it is supposed to have. So if you put in a 1000 item schem for an item with a crate size of 10, the manufacturing process will stop before the 100 item limit is reached, and it will leave the resource in your input hopper but less 1 portion (the equivalent of 1 item)
And it gets worse over time, so for example, you start with a max hopper size of 83, next time, it will probably stop on 82,then 81 and so on.
The only way to reset this is to redeed, and to re-plant your factory, Then it will go back to the original size of 83 or so, and the process starts again.

I'm doing a series of runs that produce 100 items, none of which go into crates. They all take exactly the same resources. I double-check how much of each of the resources I put in each time. All the resources are used up. In six runs, one after the other, I got this many items produced: 100, 97, 95, 100, 83, 98.
That doesn't seem to fit any of the explanations being given. I think that factories have a serious bug, and are doing critical fails. But factories are not supposed to critically fail.
There are no extra items in either the input or the output hoppers. Maintenance and power are fully paid up to 30 days. And with only three resources being used, and those being put in as even 1000's, it is extremely easy to double-check the amounts.

Does the schematic show any remaining items in the "manufacturing limit"? There's a bug going around with the output hopper where the factory thinks it's full even when its under the 100 limit shown in the output hopper window. So you might be getting a weird factory error if you get up to 60-70 intems in the output. I've never had a "crit fail" on a factory run, but I have had a few times where it stopped short of the run limit when my hopper had around 65 items in it.
