Every 1 asks this, and no 1 seems to understand.
You automaticly thinkg that any old survey tool will do, if thatw as the case there would be no need to experiment on then, get a Master artisan with 950-1000 conductivity copper to make you a tool, that will end up in the 97% region, thsi will help you with surveying imensly. I didnt get ths b4 coz i just used any old tool, but i just make mine as best as possible now and its so much easier
Hope this helped

Don't forget to grab some Action and Mind foods. They'll help you stay out sampling longer, and if secondaries are buffed as well, regenerate faster when depleated.

So what benefit do you get from an experimented survey tool?

If survey tool quality matters, I'd like to see some data backing it up. I know you can experiment on them, with conductivity being the only variable. But it doesn't show the effectiveness in the window. So either it doesn't make a difference, or the devs still haven't thought it necessary to let us know about it. I guess that wouldn't surprise me, since they still haven't shown vehicle hitpoints in deeds, which would help vehicle shoppers a LOT.

I could run a test ?
Tool Type Amount of times Surveyed Amount of times Survey Success % Success Rate
@@% 10
@@%10
@@%10

Shall i do this coz its still a bit of a mystery, Whether Survey tools experimentation PTS affect its Effectivnes at Extracting Materials??

I also used a macro for my sampling like pretty much everyone else. I didn't bother with stat migration (this was before it required ID's to do it) and I didn't bother with food or spice either.
I simply found a high concentration resource sampled away using this macro.
/sample;
/pause 60;
/sample;
/pause XX;
/stand;
/sit;
/pause YY;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
XX = time it takes for your Action and Mind to drain in seconds
YY = time it takes while sitting down to recharge Action and Mind in seconds
As for the toolbar slot thing, at the time I didn't know about the /m thing to restart a macro without it being in the toolbar. Also the /pause 60; /sample; are in there because everyone once in a while you get a message saying that you found a high quality resource and it requires you to make a selection. By doing this it allowed me to be AFK sometimes without it getting stuck. I didn't AFK sample much but I did occasionally. If there is nothing wrong and that mesage doesn't come up it will just say you are already sampling and won't affect anything.

1) Migrate your stats so your Action and Mind secondaries are ~ 700 each. If they're lower, change the time in the last pause in the macro to be longer.
2) Find a great density - well, at least a good one. The better it is, the quicker you get exp.
3) Create this macro and name it sampleMacro:
/kneel;
/pause 5;
/sample;
/pause 5;
/stand;
/pause 5;
/kneel;
/pause 20;
/m SampleMacro;
4) Run the macro with this command: /m sampleMacro
5) Stop the macro with this command: /dump
To the best of my experience and knowledge, the quality of the survey tool doesn't mean jack, and I've been mining since Beta 3.
