Hi I am very new to SWG. So flame away (whatever that means), hehe. I am close to mastering the artisan profession but I am unsure of which advanced profession to pursue. In your opinion which profession offers the greatest financial oppurtunity?
Thanks,

Here is my take from most money to least or hardest to easiest:
Chef (high volume so lots of work, dependent on organics makes it harder)
Armoursmith(dependent on organics, and quality)
Weaponsmith (need very high quality to compete)
Architect(need to do very high volume to make good money, very low margins)
Tailor (most stuff has to be custom made)
Droid engineer (I don't see people using droids very much but I could be wrong)
Chef, Armoursmith and Weaponsmith are all quality driven, if you can get good resources, you will make good money.
Architech, Tailor and Droid engineer are less about quality and more about customer service, having your vendor always stocked and good prices.

I've been asking myself the same question for the last few weeks, I finally decided on Architect thinking that you could make some really usefull stuff. I took out some stacks of resources I have been collecting up and made it to master a few days ago. What I found is that most architects are the same. To me it seemed asif the richer architect is allways going to be the one with the most harvesters down, either from lot swaps or multiple accounts. I got bored of it after just 1 day.
Now I'm back to the question of what to do next, if only the decision was an easier one. I'll give you some of my reasoning, some of it might be far from the truth but I guess you could help me by giving me your ideas on the subject
Armoursmith: Apart from Composite, Wookiee and possibly Ubese, there is nothing usefull to make, I even thought of making decorative padded armour
Architect: Very little is dependant on resources, to become good at it all you need is a Ton of lots to stick harvesters on
DE: Droids are very underused in the game, Since most of them last forever there is very little in the way of repeat sales to a customer.
WS: One of the possibly fun professions although breaking into the market seems to be quite a tough task.
Chef: Possibly quite good apart from all the factory runs that are needed and all the different types of resources that are needed. Also relying on a BE so much is quite scary
BE: Been a BE for quite a while and I need to try something different.
Tailor: So many items in so many different colours must be such a huge amout of effort to keep a vendor stocked.
FOr now I think I'll see what my guild needs most and maybe stick with it.

Not really, once you first open a shop, it sometimes takes a little bit to accually start drawing in alot of customers, which sometimes you the chance to craft a ton of clothing. and as far as color choices, i prefere to put a certain selection of colors up, then each week i will change which colors i sew in. besides if you make the vendor bark an ad about how you do custom orders, the customers will just ask you in person to make something of a certain color.
I try to keep at least 400 items of clothing on the vendor at all times, like right now i had a good week so it went down to 400, not im restocking a bit to get it over.
its fun, hectic, funny, and stressful when dealing with hardheaded customers!

If you do it for the cash, droid engineer isnt what uwant to do. It does have other advantages though, like being fun, and being able to make something usefull since the revamp.
But as for the moeny, i make about half my money out of my speeder business. If u find a good spot, u can make quite some money with just selling speeders. Only thing is u need a lot of resources, but they are quite easy to make, and bring in nice money.
