I have a quick noob question that i couldn't find in some of the posts. What is the hopper, and how do i unload it? I have an empty inventory, but it says my hopper is full. Thanx in advance.

hold your mouse cursor over each of your tools, click and move the cursor over "start crafting" and WAIT.

A little submenu might pop up for the tool's hopper - drag the cursor over that when it pops up and let go, see if anything is in the tool's hopper.

This happens sometimes. I think this is what you're talking about.
