Thread: Am I the only on who would love to see them do more with fireworks?
They do things like that in A Tale in the Desert. That game has got to be one of the most unique, interesting MMORPGs I've played, and I've played a lot of them.
What I'd like to see with the firework system, is sort of a fundamental change. Rather than creating a 'type 10' firework, I'd like to see more firework components. For example, if you could creat individual pellets that would have different effects - colors, sounds, flashes, trails, etc.. then combine those into different sized shells, we'd have a LOT of variety. I'd also like to see the ability to macro firework launches, so that timed displays, and setting them off to music (played by musicians) of course would be posssible.
I'm still not sure how it'd all be payed for though. The system I envision is a bit more complex and time consuming, so there'd have to be more of a reason to make them than there is now. And I don't see much of a way to create a market for them. The only thing I could think is to have them cure battle fatigue, but I wouldn't want to take away the only profit line that entertainers have. Maybe have entertainers be allowed to heal battle fatigue without a camp if their music is accompanied by fireworks? I dunno..
But yah, I love fireworks. Planning a show for Independence Day too.. that's one of the things I've looked forward to since I heard fireworks were in the game.
I would like to be able to get a better view of the fireworks once I lauch it. You can only see a small part of it since you can't look straight up.
I did a fireworks display the other day and actuallygot tips! The trick is to send out a shout prior to doing it.
I agree though that there needs to be a better way to light them off. For instance, why not set them up in one place and move to another location and remotely send them up? That way I can fully enjoy them too.
I have also considered having a friend set them off for me so I can watch. I have found setting them off in Keren, on Naboo, by the starport works best for others' viewing cause you can stand down by teh starport while they are up on the trainer's hill and they get a good view from there.
You can look straight up if you go into first person mode.
I like the idea of fireworks components that can be combined into custom shells. Hopefully that's something they can work on in the coming months.
