Is there a technique to experimental crafting.

i.e. a 100% chance of making a Tapered Barrel of Aiming.

or am I on to a exploit?

From my experience powerups are random. Most of them are junk like .0000001 less strength use. But every once and a while I will get a faster weapon speed or more damage.. more range or the like.

I'm not certain, because I have been trying to set up my resource chain for the past couple days and haven't had time to do this, but I THINK that it's the combination of resources you use that determines which type of powerup it is. Don't quote me on that, though.

I.E. SteelA + PolymerB will = PowerupC
Copper D + PolymerE will = PowerupF
Copper D + PolymerB will = PowerupG

Etc, etc, etc.

Just my guess. Plan on experimenting with it later today, or perhaps this weekend. Probably after I hit eng IV and start going for droid crafter.

Sorry had to quote you , I know that this is wrong, because I made about 30 or 40 scopes in a row with the same materials, and they all varied. I don't have an accurate answer for you, but I believe they are random.
