Today I was thinking, instead of having to open up your inventory and select whatever resource locator you need, it would be a lot easier if you could just type in /sample <resource>. For example, if I knew there was a high alotment of Carbisamo in front of me, I could just type in /sample carbisamo and it would get Carbisamo instead of making me open up my locator.
Just a suggestion, thanks.

The thing about that is, not everyone knows what percentage or what resource is in front of them. Usually, u use the tool to find a high percentage of a resource you want and you then sample it. All that would be usefull for is if you made a waypoint on a high percentage of a certain resource and dont want to select it.

If you have been crafting for a while you know. I have way points to every single material at 60% or higher close to the city I am in. There is a quick key binding. I don't think it's that hard to play with, just select the resource and go. Besides, who can remember how to spell all that crazy named stuff anyway?

I suspect it was done to avoid macroing becoming severely abused. Also it makes the survey tools essential, if you are not carrying one you cannot sample.
