Thread: Bone armor Component bugged?

Anyone else noticed that when you experiment on bone armor components you dont get your full experimentation points? I can experiment on all the other parts of the armor using my full points, but I only get one for the component, and the risk is very high. Bug or feature?

If anything, I think its a feature. The bone segment should be providing a major portion to the quality of the bone armor. So, in that capacity, it would make sense for it to be expense for upgrade. Of course, I've never seen their quality end up making much a difference in my armors. I can use a shoddy bone armor segment, and still make a very decent piece of armor: 17-18% in resistance, and 13-14% on its effectiveness ratings (forgot exactly what the names for the two are ).

But, as of right now, the bone armor business is booming. As more and more hunters are harvesting their kills, they want more bone armor produced. My only worry is that the market might become completly saturated in a short time. Even now, the Bazaar seems to be more of a joke than anything else (when it comes to selling quality items). This is due to the fact that for every one quality piece of bone armor, there are ten other pieces with 8% and 6% as stats being passed off as high grade material. Of course, making quality bone armors does not help you to sell them even in this economy that is overwhelmed with useless junk because noone knows the difference between quality and junk.

What I want to know is: what is the median range (quality wise) of the bone armor produced by the market, and what is a fair price for it? Seeing how the game is new, we have to realize that as artisans, we control the market right now. Newer artisans will follow suit to more proficient ones. All we have to do is start to cartel our products, and make some fundamental decisions to sway this young market into our pockets (and pocketbooks).

I think it would only be a feature if armorsmithing experimentation points allowed you to experiment on it. Then it would make sense, and would be cool, as a master armorsmith should be able to make better bone armor than a master artisan. I can't check this however as I'm not a armorsmith yet Any armorsmiths out there who can tell me whether they get more experiment points on a bone armor component?

Please check out the Artisan on Rori guild Post. If u are on the Corbantis server, we are trying to "control" the market more.....

I'm not sure why we get only one experiment point allowed on bone armor segment. Not that it matters, the "critical fail" rate on that one is so high that it's jsut not worth it to experiment on it. Once it's bonuses drop to zero I destroy it and I was having to destroy 90% of the segments I made. I use the best materials on it and leave it as it's produces now instead. I get great experiment bonuses on the fiberplast panels and on the overall piece and see little, if any, difference in the final product from the few times I have managed to successfully experiment on the segment.

To answer another question, artisan points work on artisan level schematics, armorsmith points on armorsmith schematics so an armorsmith probably won't make better bone armor than a master artisan.
