Okay, when I had Domestic Arts II trained as a Novice Artisan, I would build K-18 Rations often. I built at least two dozen of them total for profit purposes. Everytime I had either a good, great, or amazing success (great succes 9 out of 10 times), and everytime the stat increases were in the 50's and there were 4 servings. I would often have different types of hides and meats, but I always had the same food. I would mix n' match different combinations of the three, but I pretty much always came up with the same results. I noticed that some combinations with a great success were better than others with a great success, but the different was never extreme. At the time, it actually disapointed me--I was hoping that different types of resources would actually make a larger difference.

But now I'm not sure what the deal is. I recently got Domestic Arts III, but I still wanted to make the K-18 rations Iacquired from Domestic Arts II. I built two (so maybe it's just unlucky), but they were the worst two I've EVER built! Both stat increases were in the 40's, not 50's, and there were only 3 servings instead of 4. This was worth 25% less than my other K-18 Rations when I was a WORSE chef. I have two ideas, but I'm hoping you guys know for sure why this occured:

1) I suppose it's possible thatI used bad combinations of meat, hides, and fruit. I did have a new type of hide I had never used before, but otherwise I kept mixed n' matched them for the second K-18, but still had the same poor results. Now they're still "good" and "great successes," but the quality of the item in general is just far worse.

2) It's a well known fact in SWG that as your skill increases in some things, you're unable to craft the lower level stuff. I agree with this system completely, but I didn't realize that the change would be so drastic and that the affects would occur so quickly! I mean, these new K-18's just suck--you'd think the devs would give you a couple skill boxes of leeway before older skills started to degrade. This is just ONE JUMP: DA II to DA III.

3) Maybe I was just unlucky. Two terrible rations in a row. I think this is unlikely, however, because I still had good and great success, but all of the experimental attributes were far lower and the item sucked. Also, when making 30 K-18's, I never had ONE item go below 50 in stat increase (I actually did have one go to 3 servings instead of 4)...so to have 2 in a row is unbelievable.

Why do you guys think this occured? Do you agree with the system? I'm really afraid that my DA III food items aren't as good quality as the DA II ones lol...

ok, here is question, I am not entirely familiar with the food making, I don't do it, I'm not a chef , but were the flavor ratings and the quality of the hides the same as your previous ones, or did they just happen to be of a lower quality?
