In their wisdom, the devs read the responses to the justification they provided Friday to the crafting changes now on Test Center, and decided to pull them.

But not until Wednsday. We will have one day to try/use the new system. I believe this is a great opportunity for those that choose to take advantage of it.

I am told that the temporary system will make it possible to create much better items and schematics in certain cases, especially for components and powerups. If I understand correctly, this primarily affects schematics with a single experimentation line by letting you use all of your experimentation points to get an exceptional result. This may be a one-time opportunity to make some really valuable products.

I haven't figured out exactly what to make yet, any ideas?

Droid batteries experimented to 100% have 5 charges instead of 4.

Managed to craft a BER5!!!!! personal chem extractor with 100% experimental efficiency! Never even knew they could go above BER4.

heck i was pulling 33.5/16.5 mod schematics, as well as 100 functionality repair tools! i have no idea why they said it sucked. If you have resources and time to mete out your experimentation points...you're all set. Even my guild's weaponsmith was able to pop out a few really good weapons.

Because the changes were bad if your resources weren't really high.

Also, your max was lower than usual if you didn't get an "Amazing success".

Normally I can make 14.82 Crafting tools with a 994 CD Copper.

New system:

Max w/out anything but Greats: 14.79

Max w/ a least one Amazing: 15.00

As for advanced professions, if you use meat, you're screwed. If you use ANY gated resources, your screwed.

Why? Because ANY low resources (less than 900ish) will SEVERELY drag down your maximum and how much you can get out of your experimenation points.

I tried to make something with a 600 OQ Insect meat (hard to get high OQ stuff in large quantities) and my max (which now took all 11 Exp Points to get to) was lower than usual. Also, it means I wasn't able to up the duration or anything else on the food. Usually I'll get Power and Duration even on foods, so it's got solid ability with a good lasting time. With the new changes it took the majority of my points to get anywhere in either Bar, making items less power and making me spend almost all of them just to get to a useful duration OR power level, not even decent in both. Basically it screwed over ANY profession that experiments on more than one bar to make a useful item. And turns professiosn like WS into a resources only profession. Since all your points will go into maxing out Damage/Speed, everyones will look the same unless they have different resources. MUCH moreso than now.

Also, this would make SEA Exp +'s SUPER expensive and necessary to make any decent equipment. If you don't have AT LEAST one more Exp point you'll be pretty unable to get the max on anything where all your resource needs aren't 900+. People with SEA +10 or +20 to Exp. would rule the market due to their much greater stats and ability to up second bars.

This would RUIN starting crafters, who don't have stockpiles of super high end resources.

Basically a Master Artisan without a stockpile of super good steels and resources would be making poor equipment and unable to sell any to make the money to GET better resources.
