With the crafting changes my MSS have never been better. As a human I get 11 points for experimentation by default at Master. I can pump all 11 of those points into one branch of the experimentation. Before pub 7 a MSS was 82% effectiveness, after pub 7 same resources they are 92%. This means in the end you can make say a better crafting station if you are an Architect for example.

Its pure idiocy to change it back. I talked to many crafters on my server and they love the changes and are making scores of factory schematics because the change is going back.

Finally something is done right in this game and they change it back because YOU wanted it.

Key point being you put all points into one line of experimentation. It was already known that SOME items could be made better under this change.

The problem was that MANY items would be worse - specifically armor and weapons, items that have multiple lines of experimentation. Try to look beyond the borders of your own profession.

Master Weaponsmiths are making scores and scores of schematics for factory runs because the sub componets they are making are far better than what they have, in turn making the final combine far better. Take a lesson from an architect, you only need 82% (8 points)expermented to get a BER 13 harv if you start with say a 97% OMU. This means you can put 2 points into the hopper. Now with these changes you can put 3 or even 4 points into the hopper at Master level to make them even better.

Need a fork?

Yeah, but if you use all your points on the OMU and all your points on efficiency and get one excellent experiment result you'll get a BER14 harvester.

Most of the people against the patch was because:

1- the patch put another barrierfor newcrafters to enter the market

2-old schematics weren't going to be destroyed and could have dominated the markets for years.

These concerns are valid, and no pros or any SOE representatives were able to adress these in the big discussion thread. The outcome was that SOE decided to revert the patch after one day, but now the boards arestormed with messages that some items are great and how stupid the cons are. And somehow, somewhere the bigger picture why the majority in the thread was against this patch is burried under some "better" products.

My armor was worse with the change, raising the resists to close to what they previously had gotten to in the past required all 10 of my points, where in the past I could put two points in lowering the HAM.
