Thread: Easiest Advanced Crafting Prof?

I cracked open a holo and got Weaponsmith. I was thinking that while I was already doing the crafting thing I ought to knock another advanced crafting prof off the list. I was wondering simply, which adv. crafting prof is the easiest to grind through other than weaponsmith?

If you have the Harvesters to get large bulk materials you can grind out Architect in less than 5 hours pretty easily. I would do that one if I were you.

I did it by making Walls by hand and then making Houses out of them (that way I was making money off it also by selling the houses). The quicker way I have heard was to make Gungan Head Statues the whole time. Good luck!!

All of the crafting profs are pretty simple, assuming you can get the resources. In the order that I remember the time requirements (shortest time -> longest time):

  1. Architect

  2. Chef

  3. Droid Engineer

  4. Tailor

  5. Weaponsmith

  6. Armorsmith

I would say armorsmith is the toughest because of the difficulty in collecting hides and having to make the segs and synth cloth. I think you probably need about 70-80k in hides alone.

I just did AS without using a single Hide or Synth Cloth. I don't remember what I ground to get to Ubese Shirts, but it was Ubese Shirts from the time I got to them until I mastered.

i just did AS using the mabri chest peices, after you stockpiled the syn cloth and armorweave segments you just have to buy 80k hide. With all the people doing Rancor misisosn these days its pretty easy to find people with alot of hide that are willing to sell for 3-7 cpu. I offered 7 cpu for 20k stacsk and had about 10 tells in a span of a few minutes. Just offer what you can afford though.

Well, it depends on what you mean by "easiest".

Architect has the highest xp requirements (1408k) so you use up the most resources but has mainly large-resource items, so you need to craft fewer actual items.

Chef, and tailor have the next highest (819k). Chef foods have very low resource usage (so you have to do make a few more items to Master), but each one gives xp = 4 * resource count (every other profession except spice crafting gives 2x), so it's the cheapest as far as number of resources used. I'm not sure about the tailor grind, it looks to me that most of the items require components, so that may make things a bit harder.

Armorsmith has the lowest actual xp required (717k), but almost every item requires either creature resources, tailor components, or both. But once you get the Ubese Shirt schematic, it's not too bad.

Thanks for the replies. Here is a question about tailoring (no i have not researched much): What type of resources does tailoring use? Is it hide or something else?

Based on what I've read here so far I'll probably try to knock off architect and maybe DE.

Also, what about chef, is it a lot of gathering? are resource vendors easy to find for cheap grind ingredients?

DE wasn't hard at all..just required a whole lotta steel for the endless advanced droid frame units and the creative grinder can find an easier way than this one

weaponsmith and armorsmith are both tough grinds in part because there is nothing either can make that pays out well in xp

and architect is easy, so the order i would say is (easiest to hardest):

architect, DE, chef/tailor (about the same to me), ws, as (easier if you can find crates of synthcloth but lowest without it)

For tailor, there's a great sticky post for the grind in the forums. I don't recall the amounts off-hand, but you'll need piles of steel, fiberplast and petrochemical. Once you get to ribbed shirts, you can grind those to cartridge belts. Those will get you to master, but it doesn't take too long if you have a good crafting macro and several tools.
