I was thinking that i have the ability to make some food but never used it. To those Master Artisans who make food or have made it i have some questions.

What foods do u find in demand?

What have people looked for in their food? (ie. fill, time, ect.)

Recommend any BE additivesor any others? (herd that Chefs can make something that is useful)

and any other things that would help me start selling some food.

Thank alot for your input

I make and sell, in limited quantities, a number of artisan foods. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of very good resources to make artisan foods and you have to have really good stuff if you want to compete with chefs who make similar foods. However, I have experienced pretty good sales on Aitha (mind heal), Exo Protein Wafers (dmg reduction), Dustcrepe (DOT reduction), and Caf (will power enhancement). I also sell Spiced Tea (mind enhancement) and Starshine Surprise (incap recovery), but in lesser quantities.

To make these foods effectively, you need to have resources with OQ/FL/PE/DR all in the 800+ range if you can find them. If not, you at least want 3 of them above the 800 range and only one below that level. You'll also need to get ahold of some micronutrient supplements (from a BE) with a power of AT LEAST 55. It also helps if you're a human and have 14 artisan experimentation points.

Using really good resources and +58 micronutrient supplements, I can make the following:

  • Caf - +86 Willpower/65 Minutes/12 Filling/6 Uses (you can take this and then wait for your stomach to empty out and still have 35 minutes of buff left so you can double buff with brandy)

  • Exo Protein - 25% Damage Reduction/16 Attacks/4 Filling/7 Uses (with such a low filling, you can pretty much eat these constantly without filling up)

humans have an additional +15.. so +15 +25 = +40 = 4 additional points.

and I make crispic, dustcrepe, exo-protien wafers and sometimes caf and spiced tea.

stats on stuff I make:
cripsic - 15 filling +25 accuracy ~14 minutes - stomach drains before the effect is gone
exo protien - 5 filling 25% damage reduction 20 attacks - great for jedi who don't have the benefit of armor. it's like having 25% base armor on if you macro it.
duscrepe - 22 filling 24 power - assuming it reduces the time of a DoT by 24%
caf - +70-80 wp 60m 10 filling - humans with maxed mind stats and musician buffs love this.. their focus is fine from the music buff, or is fine + one brandy (or ahrisa),and then drop caf till their's no tomorrow to get the regen-rate way up there for the willpower.

Yes, it's a percentage reduction. But you have to wait 15 minutes before eating another dose. Note that you can eat it again immediately (the game won't stop you, like with Synthsteak) but it is wasted.

I'm going to post this addtional info in a couple places because it took me a bit of research to find out...
---

For Artisans interested in making Light Food Additives for crafting Artisan foods, the Bio-Eng component isn't clearly specified but with a little research, I dicovered Multisaccharide Dimate, got some and it at least fit in the 'optional' slot... the stuff I got was low qual and didn't make much difference.

However further research indicated that there are 4 different kinds of light food bio components... This may be obvious knowledge to some folks, but I had to look awefully hard to find this info., so thought I'd share.

Here are all 4 and their effect.

Flavor - how long the food's effect lasts
Multisaccharide Dimate

Filling - how much stomach space the food takes up (on this I'm guessing the better you get in this category, the LESS filling it is. Can anyone confirm this?)
Carboreductive Catalyst

Nutrition - how large the food's effect is
Micronutrient Supplement

Quantity - how many doses in the final stack of food
Hyper Yeast Additive

Common knowledge to Chefs I'm sure, but the slot size can except the stated size or smaller. So only Light additives will fit in a light slot, but later if you're making something with a slot for a medium food additive, you can put a light or a medium additive into the slot.
