HEy folks. Due to school I have retired most of my advanced professions. I have decided to hang onto rteisian and craft some simpler stuff to keep a cash flow going to pay for my storage houses and stuff. Some guildies have been asking about powerups and I read the sticky that I saw on the powerups didn't awnser my question.

Ok so my question is Can diferent materials cause different results ins tats. I'm not talking about how high the % bonuses are im talking about changing the bonus 's/ Ex. If I used alunaman and a polymer I would get a random list of say mind + 3or health + 2 etc etc. But say I use steel and lubricating oil I would get + 3 damage or + 3 bleed. I am asking cause my guildies are looking for min/max damage meleepowerups. I have seen them before with +33 I think. This is also what they are telling me they thought they have seen before. Was just curious if there was a way to manipulat yourself into different list of stats that the raandom selector chooses from. If it is possible does anyone know of a link or do they know what 2 materials were used to get what ever results. I am mainly looking for the min max damage in the mellee powerups. thanks for whatever help you can provide.

It is not possible to get a melee powerups with ANY type of damage modifier at 33%. The best you can hope for is a good HAM modifier, like mind, and then a 16% damage modifier (min or max) and a 5-8% damage modifier (min or max). For example, I regularly stock the following melee powerup (I use my own names on them so it's easier for my customers to remember which ones they like):

  • Heavy Hitter - 33% Mind/16% Min Damage/7.4% Max Damage

They type of materials you use have no bearing on the final stats or your powerup. The only thing you have to worry about in terms of materials is making sure your mineral and chemical both have an overall quality of 995+.

From what I understand about powerups, the choice of resources does not affect which modifers you get. You must experiment one by one until you get what you want (and then make a factory crate of it).

For example, I made several different types of melee and ranged pups using the same mineral and chemical resources (steel and polymer) that have outrageous OQ stats. I finally hit on a good min/max combination on a ranged pup and made a schematic. From the same resources, I also made pups with reduced mind or action costs, wound chance, etc.

But if I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

Nope, that's true. Dumb, but true. You really have little to no control over which type of power-ups you're making. It's all pretty much random as to which modifiers you'll get. You could make 20 of the same ranged power-up style and end up with 20 different stat modifier combos. It puzzles me why it was built this way or why it hasn't been "fixed" by the Devs. I can't imagine any other master profession having so little control over *what* they craft, let alone the quality of those items.
