When you /transferstructure a factory to someone else,does the stuff in the input hopper stay intact? IOW, does the stuff in the ingrediant hopper remain for the new owner or is the hopper emptied and the contents lost?

Before I do this with a factory full of stuff I want to be sure we know what will happen so it can be emptied first if necessary.

Yes. Any objects in the input / output hopper of a factory, in a house, or in the hopper of a harvester, will remain intact through a transfer command.

I have done this myself several times. When you transfer ownership, nothing inside the structure is affected nor is it's fundamental functionality changed (but you wouldn't inherit the Structure Maint bonus when receiving a structure from a Master Merchant for example). There are a few items in the game (the Hero marks come to mind immediately) that won't allow you to transfer the structure over until those items are removed. Other than that, it's essentially as if you owned the structure all along.
