You need a factory to use a schematic. For artisan items you need an equipment factory.
One tip on schematics and factories: Always remove the schematic BEFORE you insert another one. Otherwise the first one gets lost.

Weapon power ups fall into the equipment factory category. There are only four types of factory:
- Food and Chemical: Foods, bio-engineered goods, medical materials
- Clothing and armor: Just like the title implies it's used to make tailor components and clothing as well as armor components and armor
- Structure factory: Architect components and structures
- Equipment factory: Everything else. This incudes but is not limited to: most Master artisan items, scout traps and camps, weapons, and droids.
Hope that helps.

I made a run of heavy axes in mine and they are an artisan item (i am a master WS and 4044 artisan). Pretty much if it is not food or wearables then it is equipment.
Finding a factory on some servers can be a real challenge. Most of the architects are in the JTL beta, have gone Jedi or have quit. I wanted to buy 6 of them when I made master WS and had to settle for 5 of them. There was not a sixth one to be had anywhere on my server. Heavy miners and fusions are hard to find too... but that is another story.

Really? I've been swapping between schematics for a while and never had a problem.

Hmmm... maybe that was fixed at some point. That was the advice that I was given. I will have to use a schematic I don't care about and try it sometime.

I told you that it is hard to find a factory now days. How in the world did you manage to delete it?

I've done that once. Sucks.
It's disturbing how closely a deed resembles a Broken Viewscreen at first glance......
