All resources shift, the resource you were sampling must have been at the end of it's shift.

Resources dont spawn forever. They usually stick around for between 5-8 days for mineral. This means that in the short amount of time it took you to train survey II, it cycled out. Just bad luck.

Ahh coolness. That make sense.

So I have to move to new area in hopes that Iboewism would appear back on list?

No, Iboewism is gone forever. It will never spawn again. You just have to find something else to mine.

It happens to all resource types, that's why when a good resource spawns a lot of people harvest it like crazy, because once the resources shift that's the end of it.

Took me awhile to figure this out too. Figured I was either losing my mind or that resources were dependent on level. Couldn't figure out why I went up a lvl but the copper got worse

So it's not even like these resources are on a cycle? Say I've got a bit of this stuff but would like a bit more for a nice factory run.. there's no use whatsoever to wait? Once gone is realy and utterly gone?

Yep, gone forever...forever? forever ever? Yes forever!!!. Lets say you didnt know what day a certain type of resource spawned in. You will want to try to find out when it spawned to see if its worth your time setting harvs up and such. It might have spawned 6 days ago and you are looking at the very end of it.

If you have made a schem or something like that and can only use what resource types you used to make the schem with, your only hope would be to find someone selling it or look on the bazzar to buy some. I find its good to have friends that also mine. I log on and they say "hey, some uber copper just spawned" or "hey, that steel you were mining just went out of shift"

A VERY good friend to have is www.swgcraft.com . You will thank me one day lol. Good luck.

One other thing to keep note of if you are doing alot of hand sampling. When a resource first shows up, you will not be able to successfully sample for about 24 hours. Before that time period ends, samples will always fail. I havn't actually done any hand sampling in months, so I don't know if it was a bug and got fixed or not, but if you seem to be failing consistantly that might be the cause.

This hasn't been true for nearly a year. We have a whole business on Scylla based on knowing resource shifts within 24 hours of them happening. Yesterday I hand sampled a dozen resources within a couple of hours of them shifting in.

The only issue with resource shifts and artisans is there is a small gap between the time an "always available" resource, like fiberplast, shifts out and the new one shifts in. Once the new resource appears in your tool, you can sample it immediately.

Once it shifts out it is gone for good but all is not lost. Miners like myself often mine more than we can use/sell to our customers so you can look around for resource vendors and see if any have some. Even better go to your galaxy trade forum and ask (or spam a starport since everyone is in space now no one will hear you scream )

Also become good friends with SWGCraft.com it will save you lots of time and allow you to contribute avail resource knowledge to others. IT will be well worth your time.
