You know the window that pops up when your sampling a resource that says a higher concentration has been found, or something to that effect. It is very effective in killing the macro. How do you counter that ? Is there a macro command that will close that window?

You ignor it. The menu for it will stay on your screen it will even begin to stack sometimes with many menus saying this ....

however the macro should hammer through those menus and still work...i

I did change the published macro though. Im not sure how effective it is over the one you are using as it seems that doing this survey tree takes FOREVER!

#1 make sure you have buffs on action and stamina.

my macro reads something like.....

/kneel;

/sample;

/stand;

/pause 20;

/ui actiontoolbarSlotX;

Its really basic but because it kneels samples and stands it will power through those menus. It will however have more failed attemps at sampling BUT you dont have to baby sit it because of the menus.

So i guess ya trade one thing for another thing.....it may take a little longer OR not ....I am not sure on that part as I noticed the other macro didnt work and switched to this format promptly.

I hope that helps.

Buffs on action and stamina? My macro is simply stand, sample for 125 seconds, sit for 30 and repeat, and runs fine, no buffs ... on the other hand, my Action secondaries are in the 600 range, and if you've chosen to wear comp, yours may be more the 400 range.

If you want a macro that you don't have to babysit you should spend a little time custom tailoring it to your character. Take a sample, stop sampling, sit down, and then time how long it takes all of your HAM bars to fully recharge. Use that amount of time as a pause during your survey macro. Then run the macro for about ten minutes and check on it to see if your HAM bars are still fully charging each time. If they're not then you need to add a few more seconds to your pause. If your character is sitting for a few seconds after your bars are fully recharged, you can shave off a few seconds.

If you get a good macro going that you can run for hours on end without worry of your HAM bars being depleted you should be able to get the entire survey tree within 24 hours.

A few other hints:

  • Don't wear armor of any kind while sampling; it lowers your secondary stats. The lower your stats are the longer you're going to have to wait between each sampling attempt.

  • If you have any significant wounds (10-20 or more) make sure you get them healed before running yoursampling macro for the same reason as above.

  • If you really want to speed up your recharge rates my advice would be to get your stats migrated. Takeall of your stats to their minimum and then pump all of your points into your action and mind secondaries. This may not be an economical option depending on how much stat migration costs on your server, but generally people find it much more time/cost efficient than trying to get your character buffed every three hours.

Good luck!

Thanks to everyone that has posted here.

Roycroft I plan to try that out in thr morning. I also need taht command for a speed macro that i am trying to get goin so I can speed diagnose people on the go. Tghat way I ont have to use my mouse to close the window.

/diagnose;

/pause 3;

/ui action defaultButton;

For the brief 2 seconds the window is upI just quicky roll my wheel mouse to see the lower part of the diagnose window so I can see what all their stats look like. And he windowwill closeautomaticly! Great!

Glad it could help

Just finished grinding artisian for the second time and it works quite well. I still use /sit /stand, becauseas I understand it, regen rates are faster while sitting. Took me 2 days grinding very casually (unbuffed, unarmored, no wounds). And as someone else suggested....watch it for a bit and tweak any excess time as necessary... so as soon as ham is full, you're sampling again. The command isn't necessary if you sit/stand, but will get rid of window as you requested.

I've been thinking of otherapplications for the/ui action defaultButton...your diagnose macro is a good example. I'm sure there's many other situations that it can come in handy.

Anyone else use/ui action defaultButton; for other macros?
