I'm sure this has been asked/answered before, but how do you tell what the quality of a vehicle is? I've seen discussions regarding, e.g., 97 percent vehicles, or high HAM vehicles--but when I examine a vehicle or a deed, I don't see anything that tells me this information. I just got master artisan and made my first swoop, but I don't know how to interpret the information given during the crafting process. Can anyone explain 1) how does a vehicle buyer know the quality of a vehicle and 2) how does the crafter know?
Thanks much
I find the market to be very strong still. As you mentioned vehicles do still bite the dust for various reasons and I think JTL is going to bring back alot of old players who may have previously quit as well as new players; both represent a nice inflow of players who will be in the market for a new vehicle.
Do you find it worthwhile to get the high level resources required to manufacture 90% plus vehicles versus cranking out cheaper, lower quality ones?
I only sell 90% and above vehicles. There are a couple of reasons I do this:
- Quality is very important to me. I've tried to make a name for myself as someone who carries only high quality products at affordable prices.
- I mine my own materials. Therefore it costs me nothing more to get the really high quality materials than it would to get junky materials. Therefore I just mine the good stuff.
Do people buy landcruisers and speeders, or mostly just swoops?
Mostly swoops. Generally I'll do a factory run of about 50 or so swoops and then use my leftover materials to "handmake" a half dozen speederbikes and one or two X34s. Generally I find that the X34s and speederbikes will sell out about the time that I'm ready to make more swoops.
And now that we're getting into JTL, how is it affecting the market for ground vehicles?
I've seen my sales drop off dramatically in the last few days, but I expected that with the release of JTL. The expansion is new and therefore everyone is spending all of their time in space because it's something different. I'm guilty of this myself. In a week or two once the newness of it has worn off I fully expect that my sales will pick right back up again.
Oh, and another question just occurred to me--at this time, do crafters feel that there are too many or too few or just enough vehicle vendors around?
