Hi all
I was wondering if someone could help me, I just returned to the game after a long time away and I was wondering with the changes to Business IV in the artisan tree is there any reason for me to take it? I am a BE with no spare points and if I take Bus 4 I will be stuck with a very small survey range. I know Business IV gives me an extra vendor but am I still stuck with an expensive box vendor or will I b able to get a better one?

At business IV I think you also get the "robo-bartender" if I remember correctly. My advice, unless you're willing to devote six more skill points (in addition to business four) to get novice merchant don't bother. My personal opinion is that the little robot is uglier than the box.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about the little robot vendor being part of Business IV. It's been so long since I placed anything other than NPC vendors that I don't remember anymore.

Business III = 1 vendor & 100 item limit (Bulky type only)
Business IV = 2 vendors & 250 item limit (Bulky and/OR Robo vendor)
I completely agree with Dpjarrett...the little robobartender vendoris not only ugly....but I think it's overlooked alot. I was months into the game before I realized it was an actual vendor...I guess I could be the only one...but I doubt it. I'd use two bulky vendors before I'd use that little thing.
So, go with business III unless you need the item space. I'd also recommend novice merchant but if you're struggling with the points for Bus IV then that's probably not an option.

Thanks for all the help guys, There is no way I can get novice merchant because with BE u need one full line of scout, one full line of medic and unless I give up my combat prof I dont have the skill points to get up to novice merchant unless I drop my surveying 2 box and have a 64m range on my surveying.
