Thread: Factories stopping before full run is completed

In the past, I often experienced a bug where my factories would only run till the output hopper was approximately 70% full and then stop and need to be restarted. I tried to always make sure that my output hopper has nothing, or at least not a full 40 run in it, before starting a new full 40 run and had little trouble.

Since Release 11, I have had 4 factory runs (all started at the same time - forgot to check output hoppers before starting new runs) that would have been subject to the previous bug where they would stop before the full run was complete. They all stopped early (not altogether unexpected), but this time the schematic is gone and I cannot restart the factories. So, I now have factory runs of food components with 29 crates of 25 and 12 crates of 25 etc.

It seems that an attempt to fix the bug was attempted, but the problem has insteadbeen made worse. I'll start another test this evening to see if it's reproducable, but would be interested in hearing if others are having any similar issues?

Note: I originally posted this on the artisan boards a few days ago, but only got 1 response. Thanks for reading.

I havent experienced exactly what you did, but in the past my factories all shut off with around 55+ crates in output...

I had one yesterday that had only the ingredients needed to make in the input (wasnt a super dooper 5000000 component type run) and a clean output. The factory shut off at 33 crates and wouldnt restart. I had to remove crates to make it start back up.

Id have to agree, the problem certainly seems worse to me.

Man, that sucks... Some of my factories stop at 70, some at 80... guess the storage size actually does matter, even tho you cant tell what it actually is That would suck to not be able to restart it tho, that's ridiculous...

Dont even get me started on this... My factories turn off after making 3 or 4 items on a regular basis. NO reason for it whatsoever One of the most annoying things in game

All my factories have stopped at the same time but I have never lost the schematic and just a click of the buttons starts them back up again. It's annoying but I have learned to live with it. All my factories were purchased at different times and from different people so output hopper size isn't my problem.....besides I always start with an empty hopper before crafting.

I have also experienced this before publish 11 and did report it on the chef boards.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm just writing it off as one of those fun anomolies. I haven't received the old error message and email saying to complete a CS ticket like I used to when my factories stopped, but the problem is easily avoidable by just not having items in the output hopper at the start of a new run. My dream is to someday be able to start a full run of 40 items with 60 items in the output hopper and fill the output hopper to 100%, just to do it lol, sincecurrently you can't. It just feels like I'm wasting good storage space not using my hoppers to their full capacity.

It's not an anomaly, its an in-game "feature".
