Thread: Idea from the Merchants !!!
Hi,
My name is Kruppe Rift, and Im aMerchant
I'm here to get your views on Merchants, and to try and make the Artsian (and all elite crafters) and Merchant work better together.
I have an idea that will make using a merchant more advantagous to artisan and crafters.I am proposing that any items you make generate twice the usual amount of Useage XP when sold and used through a merchant (other than yourself).
This should make merchants more appealing to artisans, without nerfing anything - if you want to sell your own wares then fine, great, but you will get MORE Useage XP by selling through a merchant.
I would love to hear your views on this, or any other constructive comments on how to make merchants more appealing to Artisans & Elite crafters.
Alot of merchants (50% or so) are calling for vendors to be removed from the business line of skills all together, and not given until Novice Merchant. I personally disagree with this but I do believe transition from Business 3 to Novice merchant is almost Auto with the way Merchant XP is currently earnt.
Thanks,
Kruppe
That sounds like a great idea.... we craft and merchants sell the goods. That make the things more expensive or we just have to sell to merchants with a 25% discount ;o)
I'm an novice artisan and selling my stuff on the bazaar.. But if a merchant will buy from me and selling I can concentrate me on harvisting ressources and do experiments.

That's kinda the idea.. Crafters should be using merchants more to distribute their wares and free up more time for themselves to do other stuff (craft more or explore, track down resourcesetc.) I am a pure merchant on Eclipse, and I'm always on the look out for quality goods.. Send me a tell/mail with what you sell and we could maybe work something out.
Yes you have to (should) sell to a merchant cheaper than you could sell it yourself, but the benefit you get is a much greater exposeure due t teh merchants advertising tools (when they work) plus you dont have the headache of fluctuating prices, or extortionate maintenance fees on your own vendors. You free up alot of time by not having to promote your store, or re-stock and manage your vendors.
The problem at the moment is as everyone generlly still has spare skill points, alot of crafters are taking up a degree of hte merchant profession and cutting out the pure merchant from the equation.
But if I told you my shop has a daily exposure to over 100 of my PA buddies every day - I'm sure many crafters would be interested in their goods being exposed to that purchasing power.
Would you rather spend a week of your own time drumming up business to sell 100 items at 100 credits each, or just offload them all in one go to a merchant at 70-80 credits each.. You could make twice as much for twice the XP by using a merchant...
Kruppe buddy
..if you can't sell this idea to the artisans we're going to take your Merchant tag away and force you to be a dancer on Dagobah!!
blah blah blah...nice idea...blah blah blah...would be great...blah blah blh...
UXP is broken.
