I am a new artisan looking for a teacher or a guild/group to join, or just someone to show me the ropes. Any help would be appreciated. I don't even know where to start. It is a little overwelming.

First go on bazaar and find a general crafting tool. Second pick up a mineral survey tool, water survey tool, and chemical survey tool. Those other survey tools could be pick up later one.

Using one of the survey tool, open up the item and click on survey. Find the the location with the highest percentage of the resoruces and start sampling. This will allow you to obtain the resources.

In the general crafting tool, it will list the items you qualify for crafting / making. It will also list what types of resources are needed for the item. Obtain those resources and use the crafting tool to make them. Make the item, sell the item, find more resources...never ending cycle.

Make one of each type of survey tools you can make. You will eventually need each one of these. This will often give you enough exp to gain your first box in either domestic or engineering.

Just worry about the General Crafting Tool and Mineral & Chemical Survey tools. You will eventually build all the other survey tools once you find enough resources.

A good suggestion for you though is to make friends with other artisans maybe find one that is willing to split resourses with you IE you gather copper (great cindutivity most of the time) and he gathers chemicals. Collect 1k worth and give him 500 and he gives you 500 of his. You should both be able to gather at least 1k worth of resourses in a night, most likely you would be able to gather alot more than that.

Another good idea is to gather away from town if possible, then you can place a camp and sample for even longer periods of time as you regain action and mind pool a lot faster in camps. Get a Scout to make you some or take the Scout profession and gather your own bone and hide to make your own camp gear.

If you and your new friend both sample in the same spot share the campand rake in the exp for it and go up in survival really fast so you can make better and better camps.

I have gathered quite a few metals and radioactives, but What do I need to make the Chemical Surveyor.

If you open your datapad you can find the 'recipes' for all the items that you can make. Select the item you are interested in and it will list the resources required.

Note that some requirements are more general than others. Metal can be copper, aluminum, steel, iron, etc. whereas Ferrous can only be iron or steel. Basically there is a tree of items with the root being either organic or inorganic. (you can see the tree when you open up your survey tool)

If you are on Bloodfin I would be than happy to help you out. I could use the apprentice XP and can help you get resources, learn the grind, and level up pretty quick. I am wokring on housing and harvesters tonight with a few other new artisans.
