I've been reading the posts and noticed the one about bartending. So I decided to try it out on my server earlier today. I play on Corbantis FYI. I went behind the bar and tried to take orders. I had two friends there who decided to come ask for the first two orders. There were about 30 people in the cantina and only two other people aside from my friends who asked for drinks. The first took an order from the list of drink I provided that I had and could make. The second guy ordered a drink fairly high up in skill level, and I told him "I'm a bit low on resources, could I get you something else?". I do believe his next few words were "What! I come to a bar to get drunk not drink juice! BARFIGHT!!!" I played out the part a bit and called the bouncers on him. Who escorted him out, j/k, but he really was disappointed enough to shout out barfight. After that business died. No one even responded for drinks.

Here is what I think will make people want to "roleplay" with the bartender. Change one or some of the drinks or meals under cantina favorties skill branch to one that removes Battle Fatigue. I'm not talking about an enormous amount of BF. Maybe 5 BF per use of food or drink. This would mean that even if they ate 5 meals and 5 drinks they could only remove 50 BF. Also maybe make it to where they can ONLY use it in the cantina. This way it wouldn't be used out in battle or put entertainers out of business. Heck it could also be a camp site favorite. I think this would make bartending a possible profession, and even liven up the cantinas.

I'm not suggesting this to make money off of it. I do the bartending for fun & free. People can tip me if they want. I'm going to try and start bartending more often especially when I get high level foods and drinks to make.

I think bartending has mixed results, I personally like bartending but I don't do it as frequently anymore due to time constraints, and the unpredicatibility of sales.

In my experience, people will just ignore you if you don't send them a /tell as they walk through the door. Just a simple "Want a drink?" should do the trick. I did it this weekend, and made a killing.

Hi all - I'm an entertainer considering trying something a little new - tending bar at the cantina. I've noticed at the cantina in Mos Espa I can get behind the bar - are there any drinks that I might be able to actually serve up? If so, what level of Domestic skils or Chef do I need in order to be able to make these drinks?

lol. I was thinking about this the other day. Take your Domestic Arts line up to get Novice Chef and then advance the chef's Mixology line.

You can start making drinks right away as an artisan, nothing special, as you go up the domestic arts tree your selection improves. In Domestic Arts 3 is where the Jawa Beer and Ruby blelis come into play. I have seen people bartend and serve food for a price in Corellia, not sure if they make good or not never have asked.

You can make a number of drinks with just Domestic Arts though (for instance, you can makejawa beerat DA 3).

I tend bar in Kaadara. I make a few of all of the types of drinks and food (da1 thru da4-Athina, Caf, Spiced tea ruby etc) then go to the cantina. I have a macro to tell everyone I'm tending bar and the prices for them. "Don't spam it though!" Good pricing and I sometimes have more people than I can serve. It's Little money butstill fun. Isn't that the point of the game.

Very good that people are bartending or thinking of doing it. When I first started going to a cantina something just seemed like it was missing. That's when I realized there was no bartender. If I ever see one I'll be sure to get a drink or two and give a little tip for their services.

L'cael has been bartending in Keren, Naboo on the Intrepid server and makes great stuff.
