Thread: Making good power ups?
What is the secret to making good power ups? I have only begun to use my artisan skills but the best couplers I can make only improve things by 2-5%. Is this due to my level, my materials, crafting stations? Thank you for any help you can provide.
Have a great day!
Combination of things (and this will go for anything crafted)...
Use the right resources - Look to see what can be experimented on, and what it depends on (OQ, Conductivity, etc).
Use a good crafting tool. Examine your crafting tool and get the highest rating you can (I've only seen up to 14.55, but I've heard there are better).
Experiment, experiment, experiment. As your skill increases, you get more points, and humans get more points. So, you may be limited by your skill if you don't have at least 10 points.
Luck - you'll need all "Great success" to get the best item, and that is really just random - though the materials you use will factor into that as well - but even using the best resources, you still get the occasional "good" or "moderate" success.
Well said Lionicus.
Only thing I would add is you want "Amazing Success" to get the best results.
Otherwise I agree with all you said for getting the best powerups.

P.s. come visit my shop in the shop city outside Bestine for all the powerups you can use or want! 8)
At Eng IV and Domestic IV you have enough experimentation points to experiment a powerup to 99% with the right material.
My powerups are experimented to 98% which turns out stats of +32% +16%. You should look for the metal and chemicals with the highest OQ you can find. Right now I'm using a 999 OQ Iron and a 970 OQ fiberplast.
Good luck!
THANKS! I have missed that Domestic gives you more exp. points. I thought it gave exp. points only for food/clothing. Now I am going to spend some of my GXP I am saving for nov weaponsmith on Domestic :-).
BTW, what are your pre-experiment percent? I usually get 29% on "great success" using material with OQ > 980
