Thread: Suggestion for speeding up the crafting process just a little.
I posted this to the main forum and figured I would post it here also for the maximum response.
Ok, two suggestions to help make the grinding process a little quicker for low level crafters.
1. I don't know how many others do this, but I always put the name of my company at the beginning of every item I make by hand and it slows things down having to type it in each time. So I think it would be great if there was some way to set a default company name for every item we create so that it will automatically be there when we get to the last step in the crafting process.
2. Get rid of the confirmation screen after every experiment. It's completely pointless.A nice on screen system message would be just fine to let us know how the experiment went.
PLEASE no flames saying 'other things are more important" and such. I know other things are more important and I'm in no way saying this is a critical need. It would just be a nice little feature they might could throw into one of the future patches.
Please /sign if you think these are good ideas. It never hurts. If enough people /sign, then maybe we'll see it someday. Thanks
One more suggestion.
It doesn't seem to make sense that you get the same xp for an item no matter how good or bad it turns out.
Maybe there could be a set amount of XP for an item, but you could get a little more based on how succesful your experimentation is. Even if it's just a few more points it would help and make it even more fulfilling when we create, say a weapon power up for example, and it turns out really great and we get a little more XP for it.
It makes sense really that if you experiment and are successful, you'd learn more from the process.
Thank you for your suggetions! I tend to visit the forums very early in the mornings so feel free to private message me a link if the topic falls off the first few pages.
I do like the idea of bonus exp based on a sucessful expermination. Its a good one. A reward for taking the time to experminate. I also agree there are too many boxes we have to click on at the end hehehe.

You can turn off some of the crafting confirmations currently. Go to Ctrl-O, Miscellaneous. There is a toggle for verify crafting.
There is also a toggle for verify delete that you can use to aid in emptying your inventory when you are deep in a grindage session.
Hard to get excited about crafting when all your harvesters and materials disappear--the game won't let you put more harvesters in because it counts the ones it stold from you as still operational--and the wait to get a community relations person to talk to you is next christmas.
