I currently have a human artisan but my alternate is a twi'lek....will my powerups actually be less powerful with the twilek? or was this idea nerfed a long time ago?

The only difference should be from the human's extra +10 Artisan experimentation, which gives that species an extra experimentation point. AFAIK, twilek's don't have any racial penalties to crafting.

so does that mean i lose the chance for a 32%/16% mod\? because that is the major selling point of my shop....lol

No. When I craft +33/+16 powerups I have one exp point left over.

so then does it really matter? or not? that is what i was wondering.

For powerups, it doesn't.
