Thread: vendors/tents etc help pls :D

Hi there.. after playingon and off for about 1month now i'm finally reaching my first goal master artisan. I've got a couple of mineral harvesters going and several wind generators too. At the beginning of my harvesting operation i was more than happy to let my resources sell at 3cpu on the bazaar, recently though i've found out some of my resources can be sold for as much as 10cpu. I'm doubtful as to selling my high quailty goods on the bazaar and i wanted to find out what skills i need in order to get a tent/vendor. Are tents bought or made?where can i get a tent from? do i need to domerchant in order to quailfy for a tent?do they require maintainence?


Basically i want to know everything there is to setting up a tent/vendor... does it help if i'm a member of a player city?


Any help would be greatly appreciated

Tents are built by Architects, you need merchant skills to use one, they worklike asmall house, and they have a maintainece cost.

Tents are made by architects, but can only be placed if you have the "Efficiency IV" skill in Merchant. They come in three main styles, roughly corresponding to planets: Naboo (green), Tattoine (brownish), Correlian (don't remember the color, red maybe?). However, any tent can be placed on any planet. They take up one lot, which gives you storage room for 75 items. They don't have to be in a player city, but you'll want someplace where you can expect traffic and/or be easy to get to. There is a maintenance cost, it's probably the same as the small round Naboo huts (which also take up one lot).


Vendors are obtained starting at Business III in Artisan. You start with a terminal style (big vending machine), at Business IV you can place a bartender droid, and starting at Novice Merchant you get NPCs. As an artisan, you can only place one vendor. At novice Merchant you can place two, and you get an additional vendor available for each skill in Management you take. At Advertising III you can register the vendor on the planetary map. Vendors cost around 15 credits/hour in maintenance, more if you have them registered or if they do "barking" (say a brief message when a PC comes into range of them).


You don't have to place a vendor in a tent, anynon-private building where you have admin rights gives you the "create vendor" option on the structure terminal. So if you're a member of a PA with vendors in the hall, you can look into putting yours up there.
