Hello all
I was wondering if anyone can assist me in what is hopefully a very simple problem.
I have dug up a wide varity of materials and have collected a number of items I wish to keep, however my Inventory is almost full and my back pack which I created is full. Is there any way I can store these items, so that they will still be available when I am out and about?
I have deposited the items I wont regualrly need in the bank.
I have heard people talk about crates, how can I craft these crates? can I carry these round with me? Will these reduce the used spaces in my inventory?
Sorry if this is a noob question but I am stuck.
Cheers

First of all, get a house. You can drop things nearly anywhere in your house and that will increase your storage greatly. If you are challenged for credits, small houses are cheap, it will only take running a few missions once or twice a week to keep it up.
In your house you can also drop additional backpacks to organize your collection. I hope this helps.

Crates are acutally "Factory" crates meaning products produced in a factory. when you get to the last stage of a crafting process you have the option to produce a schematic. if you have a factory you can then put the schematic plus the same resources you used to make the schematic into the factory and let it produce the quantity of items that the schematic can produce (although you may not be able to make them all if you dont have enough of the resources). the items produced are then in factory crates and are all identical.
The number of items in a crate vary (its not currently selectable) for example powerups are in crates of 10, stimpacks are in crates of 50 other items are in crates of 25 and so on.
each crate uses 1 space in your inventory (i think it used to be 5 before i began playing) and all you have to do is select the crate and select "get item from crate" and one pops out into your inventory.
as you can probably tell i use this for power ups, stimpacks, basic camp kits etc.
i hate to ask this, but it took me a couple of days to find this out
, you have "equiped" the backpack ? if not then anything in it counts to your inventory total.

What you see is what you get. You can't carry everything around with you. You have the 60 item inventory and a 50 item backpack. That's it. Ofcourse, you can buy up to five droids with storage compartments, that'll give you another total of 50 portable storage, but you need to call the droids from a camp or in town to use the storage compartment.
Crates are the result of manufacturing items in a factory. Once an item is retreived from a crate, it cannot be put back. So there is no way to take your 15 small camps and make a crate out of them. I try to get spices and weapon power-ups in crates and I make my own camps in a factory to have them crated. That way, 25 small camps only use up one storage slot in my inventory. (Unitil I need one, at which point I'll get one camp from the crate, but since I use it pretty quickly that's not a problem.)
Non-portable storage: the bank, the bazaar (sell a thing on auction on the bazaar with the starting bid of 3000 credits, though I never use this for fear of something going awry), houses, the input slot of factories and your own vendors (set a rediculously high price on stuff you want to keep).

I have two back Packs one is equiped (which has the most items in)
and the other is used just to tidy away my items (like stim packs)
Cheers for the factory and house info.

By having an unequipped backpack in your inventory, you are wasting an inventory slot or two. The unequipped pack itself takes up some space...

Also even though they put a silly limit on droid item storage, you can have up to five droids I believe. If you have item storage on all of them, that is another 50 slots (10 items per).
