Quick question:
What item is best for grinding general crafting XP, in terms of lowest resource per item, as well as maximum XP per unit?
Thanks in advance, folks!

In general, "lowest resource per item" and "maximum XP per unit" are mutually exclusive. The vast majority of items give xp = 2 * Resources. So whatever you end up making, if you need 5k xp, you'll use up 10k units of resources.
The fast grind general means making the items that have the most resources, since this minimizes the number of items you have to make to reach the next skill. Harvesters are the best source, since they use up around 200 resources. You get the first ones of these at Engineering III, practicing survey tools work ok to grind up the 4500 general crafting xp.

Great info. Thanks for the response, sciguy. I know that my question has likely been asked a million times already; I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

what i did is grind mineral survey tools until engineering 3, then got alum., steel, & ore. Then ground micro flora farms, this will get you the rest of engineering, domestic arts, & business in a very short time, great xp. you will just need to get a load of the resources, best to try one to see the xp, im thinking its like 500 per farm & then figure out how much of each resource you'll need, been too long for me to remember.
