Get a macro, go to either swgcraft.com or search for one here, type it in, and BAM! click, and you got surveyor a few hours later

this is what i did...

1) make sure you haveenough grinding material in you pack

2) find a nice spot of something you like, say in the 70% ++ range

3) sample

4) open inventory

5) now grind away at something (if you got a bot pull it out)

6) keep grinding

7) once your material is gone look at your results

I got 20k surveying (thats the max) in a few hours while grinding medium warheads (and makeing a few bikes for passer-bys)

boring.... but its the way to do it... the hard way lol

because i don't think there is a fast way....

Ummm - why were you grinding surveying when you are obviously a master artisan already ?

As for grinding surveying, get your action secondary stats buffed - doctor buffs, accaragmn (wookie brew - drink).... take some food which enhances xp gained (I forget what this is called now).

Find a high 90s % concentration of something and type /sample. come back every 20 mins to your PC to check your buffs etc. or walk back out of the cloning centre cos something spawned and killed you lol

Tedious - but there isn't really another quicker way round it.

There is also a macro you can use which means you don't need buffing, but this takes a lot longer to get the xp.

If you can't easily afford buffs (Much like my 5 day old artisan), I suggest spending 200 credits to pick up the scout and medic professions, then do the following:

Stock up on organic/inorganic resources... Enough to craft a ton of stimpacks. Also pick up a decent amount of hide and bone, for making camps. (Bargain shopping on the bazzar may be tedious, but it has a good payoff sometimes. Also, doing all the profession quests for these 3 professions can net you over 6000 credits.)

Find a high resource concentration, prefferably a metal that you can use to craft something simple like survival knives. Start samping and set up a camp, then start mass crafting stimpacks... when you have enough of the resource you are sampling, start crafting something from that. (Use practice mode on thejunk items for a small exp bonus. Most junk won't sell anyway, so get the most out of your resources!)Use the stimpacks when your action starts to dip fairly low, or just when your mind is high enough to handle stim uses. Also, be sure you aren't wearing armor. (No point to encumbering yourself, eh?)

Using this method, I camped in one spot for a good long while, never having to "stop and rest". Eventually, I had the surveying exp I needed! Also, it's a perfectly legitimate method, rather than a bannable offense.

As I said, my crafter is about 5 days old... He is also a 4/4/4/4, with no help from anyone. I don't know if thats a short or long time, really, but it took me longer to master marksman. lol
