Thread: Master Artisan perk sugjestion. just a thought

I've suggested this, as have other Corres.
What we are told, and I"m not quoting here, is that the resource system doesn't allow the creation of new resources on the fly. That is, once cannot take Omnivarious Kirin Steel with stats X, Y, and Z and just magically turn it into Omniuberous Kirin Steel with stats 2x, 2y,and 2z. Nor can the stats on an extant resource be altered.
In other words, I hear that the system does not allow this sort of thing and would require a major rewrite of the resource system.
Now, this is what I hear. I can't give you Dev quotes on this.

Here is my idea, what if master Artisans could do stat migration a-la ID, but for resources?
example: Player 1 has a resurce that has 1000 on Cold resistance, and a 40 on OQ, plater 1 wants to have 1000 on OQ, so he takes this resurce to a master Artisan, and has him move the stats from cold resistance to OQ.
Thoughts? flames?
what do you all think?

Resource refinement is a very cool idea - would make the game much more interesting for those who are into the whole crafting aspect.
However, I'm not sure it belongs in a novice / starter profession.
And I'd wager that it would require such significant coding changes that the devs would shoot it down outright.
