Now i read alot of posts, and I agree with some of it... others I don't.... some I would consider....

BTW this will be fast because its almost closing time here lol...

lot trading... I don't think there is a set way to be rid of it... so I'll leave that as is.. but certs for harvestor... i do agree with this because we really need to get a handle on non-crafting professions placing large harvestors.

My reasoning (and this is just me) is that artisan is a basic miner (or prospector) anyway, no matter how you look at it.so if we were given bonuses for harvesting under the survey tree that wouldn't be too bad at all. But what if we were given "Lot" managment under the Business tree.

Here you would get the certs for placing larger harvestors. Leave personal harvestors as is. But larger harvestors crafted by architechs would require the business tree of artisan.

I'm just thinking that IF people had to use "SKILL POINTS" in order to place harvestors it would scare off most of the (UNOFFICAL profession)hardcore miners.

anyway.... I'm just getting an idea out before I forget it.... lol

please play nice in the sandbox...

That *encourages* x-server lot trades. How?

Well, for one,the vast majority ofthose on-server who'd have to give up SP to mine... wouldn't. Some would, but they'd be the vast minority. Less people mining == less supply. But the same demand.

And this supply drought cannot be fully satisfied by those crafters who today make stuff but don't mine, because they need their lots for factories and houses.

In a free market economy, if demand stays the same but supply decreases, prices increase.

Now look at the barrier to entry for certs. You could place heavies at Survey IV, which means that a x-server trader has to macro his toon for an entire night while he sleeps to achieve heavies. Or you could place them at Master Artisan, which means the same x-server trader not only has to macro all night for one whole night, but now also has to craft-grind for about 45 whole minutes (and x-server traders WILL supply the resources for that grind, I assure you). Or you could place it at novice crafting professions that arguably have to mine to do their jobs (like Novice Architect maybe), but that's an easier grind than Master Artisan.

So now you've reduced supply significantly, thereby increasing prices that folks can get for resources, but you've barely done anything to deter x-server traders from doing their particular thing. In fact, you've encouraged them to do it more because you've eliminated on-server competition and increased their revenues at the same time.

Certs == bad.

...

Thanks for the star, lol!

Slightly more eloquent argument why x-server will increase with cert implementation can be found here.

What would the real drawback of limitting admin rights be? Would this alone not solve the lot trading problem?

Not completely, but enough to strongly consider asking the devs to do it.
