I'm not sure what direction to go in. Obviously I'd like to go wherever the cash is, so I'd be grateful for any suggestions you folks might have.
I do have a question, however: Is it reasonable to expect that as a Master Artisan (with no "eilte" crafting skills), I could move enough goods to support a shop w/ vendors? If so, which goods would those be?
Please forgive the "n00biness" of the question.
Thanks in advance!

I move a lot of vehicles in my market place. I suspect you could sell components as well if you had a decent supply on hand. Most artisans I know don't stock them much and people don't like special ordering them all the time. I had some left over components from a order that never got picked up and I made some pretty good money selling those, it was a little slow but they all sold.
Power ups are another hot item if you have the patience to make them. Variety is the key there as people have all sorts of ideas about how to enhance their weapons depending on their skills and weaknesses.

meh, you may just end up wondering why you want to keep master artisan at all?
Most master artisans just sell vehicles it seems. Think of it this way:
Average cost to you is about .5 credits per unit...
A swoop takes 8000 resources to make. so it cost your roughly 4k and your time to make. If you sell the swoop at say 25k, you made a 21k profit. Although, with some of the extreme undercutting these days, you're going to be getting a lot of tells whining/giving you crap about a 25k price tag (this is annoying as hell).
You might sell 3 swoops one day, and none on another. You also need time to advertise your vendor in one way or another. Personally, I dont even keep a vendor, I just yell an Ad occasionally as Im running through town. Gets me plenty of sales, many are from word of mouth...
If you use good metals with high SR to make high % vehicles then your losing money. I can sell6400 high SR metal (steel/iron) for 5+cpu and the 1600 non-ferrous for at least 3cpu so;
6400 X 5 = 32000credits
1600 X 3 = 4800credits
Total = 36800 -25000 = 11,800 credits lost per unit sold.
If you can buy high SR metals at 0.5 cpu please send that seller to me, even cheap grind meatls sell for 1.5 to 2 cpu.

Now take a fairly reputable armorsmith. How much money do they make? Well, I spoke to one who said on an average day, he will pull more than 7 million credits in profit. Well then...how many swoops is that?333 swoops worth of profit. How many days would it take to sell 333 swoops? The armorsmith makes it in a day. Even a less known smith with a little advertising can still make millions per day.
Now of course, you're going to say "Artisan is a novice profession, its not meant to make you rich". Well, this is true, its not. But being a master artisan takes a lot of skill points. These skill points could be put into something much more useful. For example, the armorsmith usually buys many of their own resources. Be it the stuff made by the Tailor, or the Hide that usually costs a lot. Those points you wasted to be able to build vehicles could be better spent on something like Tailor, Scout (harvesting skill), a combat profession, Merchant, or whatever. Point is, I just dont see the master artisan title is worth the points.
And dont even get me started on Doctors, hehe. Once they got some good buffing skills, they go buy some good buff packs, stand in populated areas and use an AFK macro to buff people. Average 10k per buff, and there is ALWAYS a line to get buffedby these guys. Always. Only takes like 1 minute or less per person and you dont even have to play the game to be getting the money.
I think if they made an elite profession that REQUIRED master artisan, then there would be a point to it. Like the shipbuilders...that would make sense to me.
Bounty hunter required master marksman (and used to need master scout), commando required master marksman, doc requires master medic, it only makes sense to actually need master artisan for SOMETHING.
uhh... /endrant...
Sorry, kinda went off on that one.

The cost is about 0.5 if you are harvesting all the materials yourself. I generally charge 5 credits per myself for a well experimented vehicle (and all my vehicles are marked with the durability rating)
I easily sell 100k in vehicles a day several days a week and I run a very small operation. I'm not suggesting its the only thing you can sell in the Artisan line, becuase I don't think it is. The profit margin on powerups is greater if you are willing to make them and if you are willing to charge a premium for them. I don't make them any more becuase they are a pain to make the schematics for but when I did I couldn't keep them on the shelf.

Armour/Weapon repair kits (97+%).
Droid Batteries (actually not sold any of these but I keep getting asked about them)
Power ups
Crafting tools (the good ones with a high mod)
Travel packs - they sell at a steady trickle not just for new players but those that use them to store things in houses.
Best I can do for mid-friday afternoon:/

Occasionally, JFTHOI, I would stick backpacks or Structure Storage Modules on the Bazaar. I expected the packs to sell (1k on Starsider) but much to my surprise, the SSM's sold after a day or two (priced cheap about 250 ea.)
After I made Master Arch, I realized why. You want money? Find an MArch or two, and become his/her supplier of things like hi-quality power conditioners, etc.I need my lots for mines and my factoriesto beproducing walls. Not SSM's or SSSM's
100k ore & 25k crappy metal, and I get maybe 500 modules from it. Then I add another 10k ore & some metal and come up with 50 walls. That's what, THREE guild halls?
I don't havetime/lots for power cores.

Finally reached Master Artisan... now what?
Personally, I'd go to to Disney World!!
Ahem, anyway - ya, the following will be your top sellers (from my experience):
1. PowerUps - Melee and Ranged. This will be your top seller
2. Vehicles
3. Droid Batteries (for some strange reason, these are not stocked often) - I do very well on batteries
4. Resources
5. Vehicle Customization Kits
Good luck.

Problem with customization is that the customization doesnt last very long at all.

I don't see that as a problem. That makes it a consumable product and therefore, you're able to get repeat business.

Yea I'm not seeing the problem either. Unless they get frustrated with the cost and just give up buying them. Some people won't do that and they aren't that expensive to make.
