How do you survey for Fusion power? Is there a surveying tool?

Survey for radioactive material. That is what it 'uses' for producing energy.

Use your mineral surveying tool to look for radioactives. If you don't see them using your mineral, they're not on planet.

Ah...that was the question I had. So if you don't see it listed when trying to use your tool, they're not even on that planet? Or is it just in the general area? I just want a clarification before I go off planet to survey.

Ok so I bought one and do not have a clue how to use it.

Use a mineral survey tool to mine for radioactive. Its not guaranteed to be on evey plantet though. It will mine anything under the radioactive sub-category (ex: class 4 radioactive or class 1 radioactive...even possibly "unknown radioactive")

Think of them as medium mineral harvesters that only harvest radioactives and don't require power.
