Q: How do Master Artisans make money?

A: There aretwo main sources of income unique to a Master Artisan. The first is vehicles. Prices can vary widely, from 6000-24000+ credits fora Swoop. I specialize in high-quality Swoops (experimented to 95+% durability) and people have no trouble buying them for around 25k. Still, due to the fact that vehicles have been out for a while now and they rarely need to be replaced, I only sell maybe 10-12 vehicles a week (including Speederbikes and Landspeeders). Vehicle customization kits do not sell all that well because of how quickly the expire, plus they are a pain to make because you need to acquire droid storage compartments (a Novice DE schematic). The second is Master Artisan components, such as control units, power conditioners, etc. These items are used by many of the Elite crafting professions, in items including crafting stations, droids, and various city structures. I have not sold any of these myself, so I could not tell you how lucrative these items are. However I imagine if you find yourself a nice little niche where no one else is manufacturing these items you could make a decent, though not spectacular, addition to your income.

Q: What is the easiest Elite Crafting grind?

A: If you have the resources available, Architect. Hands down.

Q: What is the best way to grind surveying?

A: Honestly? Througha macro. Though it is a practice frowned upon by some, and may not be available for long if SOE makes good on their promise to remove recursive macros from the game. Macros vary depending on your Quickness and Stamina scores, but you should be able to find some in the posts stickied at the top of this forum.

As far as Survey grinding goes, I found that placing either your stamina or quickness to 1000 lets you sample unbuffed and uninterupted... all while you grind away at crafting. Helps to pass the time and kills 2 birds with 1 structure module

While Architect may be the easiest grind, keep in mind that there really aren't any sources of renewable income in it. As long as you pay maintenance on things, it never decays.

Lights and Candles do, but there's not a lot of money in them.

People don't seem to have a problem paying 25cpu for weapons or armor, but you'll be lucky if you can get 'em to pay 3cpu for a house.

Tailor might actually have it worse since clothes never poof when they decay, tho.

I agree, I only stick with architect becuse... well.... um... hmmm.... caaaauuuuussseeee.... oh yeah, every once in a while I get a 7-8 million credit order. That and I can make my own harvy's houses, and decorste them myself (plus it helps my guild)

Don't get me wrong... I've beenaMasterArchitect for almost a year now and I have never considered giving it up. In fact, I mastered it before the Gungan heads came along.

I was just giving fair warning to the unsuspecting.

You can also sell weapon power-ups and backpacks. These have always sold pretty well for me.

If you really want to make money crafting the best profs are armorsmith and weaponsmith. Just grinding out the easiest prof will not help you if you can't sell the items.

I did surveying with a macro. Nothing beats grinding skills in your sleep. hehe

The beauty of Surveying, is that you don't need a macro... set your quickness to 1000 and just hit sample, you'll keep sampling till you run out of action, the thing is with either Action sub-stat set to 1000 you don't loose action fast enough., so no macro needed.

...or until you get one of those dialog boxes that tells you you've detected a particularly high concentration, and asks if you want to try to recover/ pinpoint it, or ignore it.

I did that, and when I got back from a 20 minutes AFK I was sampling once every second... so you bet I was happy.
