i was just wondering, what is a good tactic to grind through the artisan profession? any macros or other advice would be very helpful.

First, set up a sampling macro, or just sample yourself. While working on the sampling tree, you're also picking up materials you'll need for the rest.

As you're doing this, grind to Engineering 3, for harvesters. You can craft and sample at the same time.

If you're going to want the Merchant profession, then make harvesters (given the resources) for Business 4, though you might consider Domestic 1-2 for the experimentation points if you actually want to USE the harvesters you're making. After all, once you can make good wind turbines, you can RUN those turbines and make credits selling power on the bazaar ... and sell other types of harvesters (or use them yourself). There are two points here: you can make credits with good products, and Merchant does not depend on grinding so much as pure time with vendors.

...has mastered the Pilot profession

To get _up_to_ Engineering 3, grind survey devices in a macro. They just need metal and mineral; since metal is a mineral, you only need a single resource to fill all the slots.

You have to be nearthe correctcrafting station and then you can use your experimentation points(you get 1 experimentation point for ever 10 atrisan experimentation you have). You will be give an option to experiment while crafting.. you can then experiment on differnt aspects of the thing to make it better. It is neccesarry when trying to make good things.. like for example the difference between a BER 1 personal harvester and a BER 4. With enginering 4 and dosmestic arts 4 you should have 100 artisan experimentation meaning you will have 10 points to experiemtn with(humans have +15 artisan experimentation points meaning that they have 11 points to experiment with). The more points the better.
