OK,

So, you step off the spaceport onto a planet, pull out your mineral resource surveying tool... and BAM, you immediately see what the planet has to offer.... But, you have no idea what quality. So, you gotta hunt down a concentration big enough to sample, and check the qualities....

My question is this: on one planet, several "seams" of a resources can exist--pockets of high concentration. But, will the qualities of those seams differ on the same planet??

Meaning, will the same resource, pulled from one planet, but at several different places on the planet, have the exact same qualities??? Or, could they differ in quality?

A resource with a given name (for example, Ovokewomic) will always have the same qualities planet-wise. I'd like to say that it's the same if another resource of the same name ever comes back, but I don't know that (I highly suspect it.) I'd also like to say that it's the same from galaxy to galaxy, but I have absolutely no evidence for that assertion.

I was wondering I notice some planets have different resources. Is there some kind of reasouce guis to say which planets have which reasource?

Has anyone figured out what the best reasources and their locations yet?

They move on average about every week (i.e. old resources dry up, new resources appear.) Not all resources are on the same schedule. It's the job of the surveyor to go out and find new resources at times like that, and of course there are more or less rare resources that are only available part of the time.

This isn't a static thing, it's very very dynamic (which is what makes mining an interesting thing to do.)
