Thread: manufacturing schematic gamble
Has anyone else run into a problem with manufacturing schematics?
My issue lies primarily with the fact that I don't know what my manufacturing schematic will yield.
I make couplers, and after hitting 99% success, It's about time to start manufacturing them.
However I don't feel that it is effective to manufacture from a schematic, If I am unaware of the result.
Could someone with some experience tell me
a) If a batch of items made from the same schematic have different properties from each other.
i.e. 10 couplers have bonus to speed 50 couplers have bonus to damage etc etc.
b) If there is a fix/ammendement to the game upcoming, to address this issue.
Thoughts andcomments welcomed.
thanks for the info. Could you tell me if other Schematics, show details of the yield, for example if weapon schematics show attack speed damage etc

They do indeed. Not in the schematic itself but with other items you can see the results of the experimentation instantly, not after the production of the item. So when you whip up that schematic for a CDEF or an E11 Carbine you know what the stats are gonna be before you decide to schematic it or not.

thanks for the info.
Obviously that creates two problems, one being a buyer of a schematic will only have the sellers word on the final attributes. and secondly, items, like weapon power ups, differ in their porperties per item. I can make 10 couplers and only three out of that ten will effect damage, five will effect attack speed, the rest action cost, for example. yes the numbers are the same, but the properties differ.

Well I've seen you post about this a few times so I gotta ask... What's your hang up on buying and selling schematics? I can understand it for a few things, but currently the the things I can think of it for really have diddly squat influence on the final product. Besides what person out to make a living for themselves by making the best of item X is going to sell Item X's schematic. If my two handed curved swords are head and shoulders above anyone elses I'm sure as hell not gonna be selling my advanced sword core schematic or final schematic. Sure master artisan parts are really needed by DE's, but just cause its 99% effective doesn't mean squat to them, or to Architects either, cause experimentation in those fields does two things.. take time and produce meaningless cycles.
As for the final attributes of the power ups. I'm well aware that power ups are randomly determined at crafting.... Will they be when the factories make them or will they all be the same, which ever the mod happens to be? I don't know, ask some one on TC.

I'm not sure I really inderstand your point Hydra.
Manufacturing Schematics, should be detailed, ammount they produce, resources needed, final product. Otherwise, there is no point. I am presuming here, once you have made 100 couplers or whatever, that the schematic dissapears, and you need a new one. If that is not the case, then schematics are pricelss.

Well I'll use one of my schematics as an example
Name: Hg Two-Handed Axe 63/103
Resources:
Oilo 25
Iperia 35
Rigosi 8
Uses: 100
How much more information do you need? Sure it doesn't tell me what the final product is... but that's why we're allowed to edit the name of our products. Without editing the name it would be a "Two-Handed Axe" schematic.
Maybe I'm just thinking about this in a way you aren't, wouldn't be hard to do. But schematics seem pretty cut and dry to me.

To the crafter who only uses his own schematics, it's no big deal at all. If they bring back the industrialist craft, then you may see more of this.
Otherwise, if you're going to buy schematics today, only buy them from someone you trust, plain and simple.
I don't see any harm in adding more info to schematics, especially regarding items that the outcome varies, and for buying and selling purposes. I strongly suggest adding all pertinant information to schematics.
Also I may add, that I don't feel it neccessary for every crafter to place their own factory, surely it is sensible ecconomically to go to a factory owner and have them fill your order, both for the crafter and factory owner.I personally don't want my own factory, however I am unexperienced regards manufacturing and the costs involved.
