Thread: Why does Food and Drink seem to be so undervalued?
Food and drink is greatly valued (I've got 100-150k in sales occuring every day or two now). Unfortunately, you're talking about Artisan level food/drinks. To really catch a customer's eye, a food has to have +400 buff size (total if the food effects multiple stats) for 300s, which takes going into Chef.
But don't get too down. Sometime this week brand new food effects are going onto the Test Center, and the latest I heard is that they'll go live around the end of the month. Things like skill buffs (Travel Biscuits give +Terrain Negotiation), delayed-reaction effects (Starshine Surprise reduces the time of your next incap), along with some that still just buff stats. With a wider range of effects, there will probably be more of a niche market for Artisan level foods.

I never used food because it wouldnt last as long as doctor buffs.
I think this is part of the reason players don't know about it. I emmigrated from EQ (where food/drink is required), and when I started I spent most of my time running around worring about when myMelon was going to run out and planning to become a Chef because there weren't any. Then I learned that I didn't need food at all, but couldn't figure why it was there. All the buffs came from Medics, and when I started to learn about food buffs they were too low to make much (read: any) difference because I got better from medics, and I was too busy doing other things than make food. I'm starting to head back that way though.
Now, if only the "In Concept" thread was functional...
