Thread: Nerf the Artisan
Same people that are screwing me now when I get asked to makea vehicle and try to get a 4 cpu price.
Time is money and resources aren't free.
I've made more than 4.5 million in just over a month with my triple master skills and two great, huge traffic location stores. Most of it came from a very large inventory of furniture and city items, but my artisan skills are now bringing in lots of cash too.
Best sale items are 99.99999% repair tools, crates of great powerups, crates of droid batteries, crates of basic camp kits.
I don't make things that others want to undercut and/or there is a lot of market competition like speeders, structures or harvesters. (I also hate subcomponent work.) I still ride the VERY FIRST X34 speeder I made with 1k SR resources. It's STILL not even at 75% HAM and I have never intentionally tried any of the starport HAM exploits/bugs. I use the speeder every day. I did make a great batch of bikes the first day and sold them for 35, 45 and 55. The second batch I made I lowered to 30-50. Then all the 15-25k vendors popped up and I got tired of explaining to people that there was a good chance those bikes were not made with the best resources. I want to make quality items, but if the market won't bare my MSRP, then I would rather stop that production than make inferior goods.
Young artisans should also always carry a strong inventory of travel packs and fireworks (carry on vendor, of course.). These are always-sell items and will bring you repeat business over and over again and those returning customers WILL look at all of you vendors for any new goods you offer.
Lastly, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Put a shop on Rori, don't expect fast cash. Put a store in south coronet or south theed and the foot traffic will simply amaze you at times.
Last lastly... Take some time to DECORATE YOUR SHOP! Asthetics means a LOT mroe than most give credit. People like to return to pleasant environments.
