I am relatively new to the game and I have a question regarding the surveying tool. I was able to survey for steel in the vicinity of Mos Eisly and got a nice supply of it. Now my stash has run out and I wanted to mine again, but surprise I found that there is no Steel under the Surveying Tool tree. This is also true for some of the Iron I was previously mining. I am not sure if this is part of the game mechanics or what but it sure got me confused.

Any ideas on what would this be? My apologies if it is a noob question but I have to ask it.... I googled around with no luck so any advice is welcome...

Are you looking for the same steel and Iron you were mining before? If so resources shift all the time so its probably not there anymore.

Does the tool tree only show the resources that are available in the area? Right now I cannot sample for it as it does not even show up in the tool. Is that how it works? If there is no resourceo of that kind it won't show in the tool as an option to survey for?
