There are some excellent threads on creating a macro to do this in the FAQ's above in this forum. With it you can grind that in an hour.
Note that with the macro you will see on your screen a message that says: " Crafting has ended" or something to that effect. Don't freak out but check to see if you gained xp. If not, move away from any structures that may have a crafting station inside. There are work arounds that aslo are described in the thread.

The /sel xx is the way of automating what it is you want to craft and changes as you gain skill boxes. Do this: start your crafting tool but dont select anything. Then at the chat command line type, /sel 00. The next step in the crafting process will display the item that cooresponds to that number. Keep incrementing the number until you see the item you want to craft in you macro. If the same item repeatedly comes up, you have reached the last item you are able to craft.

The crafting macro aside, 2000 xp won't be too hard to generate.
Just craft a bunch of artisan items. If you're a novice artisan, you can craft combat knives, or crafting tools, or whatever. I personally like to craft low level stuff like that and progress up the engineering tree first. Once you have engineering 4, you can craft personal wind generators. Crafting these generates lots of experience. As a general rule, the more resources something takes, the more xp it will give. But 2000 xp isn't much, and you should be able to craft that up in no time just by doing normal crafting. The macro will certainly speed it up, but if you don't want to mess with the macro, normal crafting will be just fine too.

A macro for 2k xp is a waste really. I remember crafting up the tree one time just making fireworks for my guildmates... that took forever, but it was cool as hell to watch everyone fire them off
