Should I raise the price on ore and steel? instead of 2cpu for average ore, should i go up a credit or two? since the end item they craft will be make'n them more money?

I suggest you keep you prices the same. Raising your prices just means your customers (the crafters) will just start looking for cheaper alternatives then buying your resources.
Raising prices on not so great resouces means you'll also have to raise prices on your higher end stuff which would also loose you more business.
But then it's your business, so it boils down to your choice.

the end product might not make anyone more money anyways since everyone will be able to get the same buff, use the same level of resources and get the same quality of product. prices will simply stabilize at the same level they are now

Demand for your resources is affected by several factors. Fewer factors now that the bazaar search is in place, but supply and demand still dictates whether your items will sell. If you find that you have trouble keeping steel on your shelves because people buy it too quickly, then your prices may be lower than necessary. If you have lots of stuff that you can't sell, then your prices are probably too high.
I doubt things like resource demand will change with much the proposed crafting nerf though.
