Thread: New Pub 17 Powerups 4 sets making in factories now

I know people will have questions about the new DR requirements and what powerups can do post Pub 17. So, here are 4 sets I have made up this AM and am making factory runs.


+32.51% Damage Mod/+7.1% Speed Mod (speed reduction), 347 USES, Ranged weapon.


+27.11% Speed Mod (speed improvement)/-11 Accuracy Mod, 401 USES, Ranged weapon.


+27.35% Damage Mod/+5.69 Speed Mod (speed reduction), 354 USES, Melee weapon.


+24.92% Speed Mod (speed improvement)/-11 Accuracy Mod, 389 USES, Melee weapon.


One thing to point out. USES goes way up on pups now. Same resources needed. So a crate before had 10 pups with 100 uses each, so 1 crate = 1,000 pup uses (shots fired). Now, you can easily have 400 uses per pup. 10 pups in a crate with 400 uses means 1 crate = 4,000 pup uses (shots fired). What does that mean? It means we got nailed again.......because your going to sell about 25% of the pups you sold before. Granted, pup use might be up slightly as not having to change a pup as often will mean pups will be "on" a weapon more often....but I don't see this as significant. With the same resources needed for pups post-Pub 17 as pre....how do you justify raising the price?


For me selling only 25% of my normal pup sales will certainly hurt cash flow if I don't raise prices. If I go 1 to 1 based on previous uses.....my old pups were 2K per crate for 1,000 uses. So, with new crates having 4,000 uses my price should be $8K per crate. I would be happy with that if people will buy into it. Problem is the old way, with 10 resources per pup, I was at 20 cpu....a nice return but using uber resources also. Now, same 10 resources....but 80 cpu due to less volume sold.


It's going to be interesting to see how this is recieved and handled by both Artisans and Combat professionals. If as an Artisan you decide to sell your pups for the same price as pre-Pub 17 then your shooting all of us in the foot!

It does make sense that were going to have to raise prices. Even if we raise it accordingly in relation to how many uses the PUP's have now. But I will admit, a nice pup makes a nice weapon uber and I love it. Also, remember, pup's wear down your weapon condition too. If 400+ pup wears a weapn down 4x as fast, then the weapnsmiths will be making really good money again.


When they nerfed solo'ing, they said it was so newer players can afford things too. With the CU and level dependant item usage, I think we can fairly charge for higher weapons pup's and price accordingly for lower quality pup's.


Maybe Im jumping to conclusions here. But it seems SOE has finally put some of the depth back into the game. Im excited!

Just played around with the *new* new pups for a bit and come up with the following samples. These were made with 996 CD 1000 OQ 808 DR steel and 945 DR 990 OQ lube oil. 14-pt artisan with force crafting and bespin port. Initial percentages came out 25% and 29% but I forgot which was which.

EDIT: efficiency 25%, effectiveness 29%

Despite the "uses" shown, once you apply the powerup, the weapon shows 500 uses.

Ranged:

-25.24% speed
-5 accuracy
452 uses

-21.11% attack cost
-1 accuracy
454 uses

+30.09% damage
+5.48% speed
373 uses

Melee:

-27.42% speed
-6 accuracy
447 uses

-21.63 attack cost
-2 accuracy
447 uses

+30.09% damage
+5.48% speed
373 uses

I've never likes the 100 uses and so I dont use any of them. Now with around 400 uses, I might start using them again. So, your sales might go up. But i agree about raising the price. Maybe 2x increase.

I just ran a new set of melee +30% dmg, 20% speed 500 uses per item,


im sellin em for 12k for a 10 pack to low???




If your gonna ban me, next time at least let me do something worth banning!

thanks devs...i now have another batch of jillions of pups that are messed up in some way...this time, woo and also hoo, MY TITLES DONT MATCH THE ACTUAL STATS AFTER CONVERTING.....
